The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up, executing, and breaking down events at the Club. Banquet staff receive an Event Order and translate the instructions from the host and the Events Director into a full-scale event. Banquet bartenders are responsible for assembling, managing, and serving alcohol inventory, documenting consumption through the event. Banquet bartenders also double as servers for events that require less alcohol service. The houseman team sets the furniture in the room, while the banquet staff set tables, arrange décor, set buffets, and drink stations. Throughout the event, they provide food and beverage service to guest, working as a team to create a memorable experience.
Reports To: Banquet Manager, Banquet Captains, Banquet and Club Functions Director
Compensation: ALL POSITIONS ARE NON-TIPPED POSITIONS. Pay is $15 per hour for servers, and $16 per hour for bartenders with experience. Full time employees (30+ hours per week) are eligible for Club's excellent benefit package to include health, medical, and dental insurance, 401K, paid vacation, PTO, employee meals, and employee golf.
Education/Experience:
Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred, but not required for servers.

Job Tasks/Duties - Server
Performs related banquet set-up tasks.
Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating them.
Takes beverage orders and serves food in specified station.
Pours and refills wine, coffee, water and other beverages served with and after the meal.
Clears soiled dishes as needed.
Cleans all assigned work areas in kitchen and banquet areas.
Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
Assists in closing functions such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for next function.
Attends staff meetings including pre-service (line-up) sessions.
Consistently follows all food safety-related requirements.
Job Tasks/Duties - Bartender
Inspects the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available.
Requests additional supplies as necessary and stocks the bar.
Follows set-up procedures.
Prepares garnishes, fruits mixes and pre-mixed drinks prior to opening bar.
Greets members and guests.
Mixes, prepares and serves drinks to members and guests and mixes and prepares drinks ordered by food and beverage servers according to approved standard recipes.
Collects checks and payments for drinks served.
Reports complaints to a manager as they occur.
Maintains and cleans bar area and equipment.
Maintains records of liquors, beers and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times.
Cleans and locks the bar area according to prescribed closing procedures.
Ensures that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring, and takes precautions against possible spoilage.
Attends staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions and training as required.
Carefully follows all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service and informs manager if continued service to a member or guest is in question.
Serves drinks to members and guests seated at lounge tables in the absence of a beverage server.
Continually practices beverage and revenue control procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Providing guest with menus and answering any initial questions.
Review all reservations for each shift, and assign suitable tables
Make sure each member of the wait staff get a fair amount of tables
Monitor the table rotation
Keep notes on how many people are in a party, time of arrival, etc.
Know which servers can be counted on to take extra tables
Keep track of which tables are cleaned and available for new guests
Estimate wait times for guests
Answer the phone and take reservations
Make sure there are complete place settings for each guest
Make sure the table is clean
Move tables together to accommodate larger parties
Engaging with guest to ensure that they are happy with their food and service.
Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
Make special arrangements for children or disabled people
Make eye contact and focus on guests when they ask questions
When seating guests who have been waiting, thank them for their patience
Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the restaurant. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

About the Venue
The Sevierville Convention Center will do more than meet your expectations. It will exceed them at every opportunity, by offering a facility design that addresses the specialized needs of competitive arts, trade and retail shows, meeting conventions, retreats, seminars, banquets, receptions and or holiday parties. The ballroom area is simply beautiful and can accommodate up to 1500 people. Of course, if your event requires a more intimate approach, we can provide total privacy and breakdown specialized to the individual client needs. Our two exhibit halls total 107,562 square feet of function space and can be used in conjunction with any and all ballroom space. Small meeting room spaces are also available.
