Job Duties:
Student may be involved or working in PowerBI environment to cover the following tasks:
* Student will be involved on our newly active PowerBI reporting Tool / Environment.
* Student will be tasked with reviewing our PowerBI environment and find the best practices in the market that can be applied to increase performance and have better management and support to our users.
* Student will be responsible of identifying and collecting information from ALL existing PowerBI reports and classifying them in to multiple areas in a excel table or DB table in order to manage and update the report information.
* Part of the classification process of these reports, student will be responsible of recording some of the following information:
* Identify the owner and department who created the report
* Identify if report was part of migration into PowerBI or it was created recently.
* If the result set of the report is confidential and if requires approval to access it. Who will approve what user can have access?
* Provide a brief description of what the report is used for
* High level overview of the core logic of the review to identify the data source table names.
* Review if the data from the report uses data warehouse (Snowflake) and refresh frequency.
* If data is coming from direct query as part of the production Oracle DB.
* While the review of the core logic of the report, identify possible enhancements that can be done or include using best practices use in the market.
* Define a new or update a process on how IT-Helpdesk can manage and administer users, new reports to be published and what users can access these reports. If possible, automate this process after all has reviewed and approved by IT using a new portal using VB.Net language or similar.
Position Requirements:
* Must have at least completed IT courses at the Sophomore level
* Mid to Expert level knowledge in PowerBI reporting
* Mid to Expert level in Oracle PL-SQL and basic Oracle DB knowledge
* Understand data warehouse (Snowflake)
* Understand PowerBI Direct-Query to Oracle DB.
* Good planning, organizational, analytical and decision making
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to connect with the other departments and users within the company.
* Internship Details:

Summary
The IT Travel Technician is responsible for providing technical support, managing IT assets, and overseeing remote IT projects within a clinical office environment. This role primarily consists of desktop support/helpdesk, with about 50% taking place at remote CSI facilities, and 50% inhouse at our Plano, TX location. Execute device installation, repair, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance, providing in-person or remote support in a timely and accurate fashion while adhering to all IT Service Management processes and procedures.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000/yr (DOE)
Location: Plano, TX
Schedule: (On-Site) Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
On-Call: (Optional) Rotational on-call schedule for after-hours/weekend hours that you'd have the option to do for $100/week
Travel: Up to 50% to remote CSI facilities that don't have on-site IT support to be the face of the IT Department
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following but not limited to:
• Installs, upgrades, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots end-user hardware
and software to ensure required desktop service levels
• Ensures accurate tracking of hardware through Asset Management procedures
• Collaborates with the IT Department Managers for Asset ordering
• Performs onsite and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC,
tablet, and mobile device problems for end-users, recommending and
implementing corrective solutions, as needed.
• Supports accurate Incident and Request Management information capture,
prioritization, and ensure completion within SLA timeframes
• Collaborates with IT Department Managers to identify any ongoing issues or
ticketing trends with assets
• Primary contact for all site based IT projects and troubleshooting
• Adheres to all IT Service Management policies and process areas
• Contributes to continual service improvement in all aspects of IT support
function
• Consistently represents the company in a professional manner
• Provides high level of “customer service” for all company staff
• Adheres to the Company's compliance requirements as stated in the company
handbook and all other related policies.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This role includes up to 50% travel.
Supplemental Functions
• Maintain documentation for IT processes, asset records, and user guides.
• Support IT projects, such as system upgrades or office relocations, as assigned.
• Provide basic training to employees on the use of IT systems and tools.
• Collaborate with vendors for equipment repairs, warranty claims, or procurement needs.
