Our New Teammate The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of splicing techniques and be able to read and interpret technical diagrams. Additionally, the Splicer should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for splicing and terminating cables, installing, and testing fiber optic cables, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. The work is spread out over the state of Maryland and travel is to be expected. You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following: 40% of the time on Objective 1: Fiber Splicing and Maintenance 30%of the time on Objective 2: Project Coordination 15% of the time on Objective 3: Project Meetings 15% of the time on Objective 4: Training and Development Job Responsibilities - What to Expect Perform ribbon and single fiber optic splicing. Terminate and install various fiber applications. Build new and mid-entry splice cases. Test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks. Perform emergency support during off hours and weekends. Drive and maintain vehicles and accompanying tools. Provide appropriate customer service when needed. Take pictures, create, and adjust drawings, and compile client notes as needed. Coordinate and assist in the procurement of materials, supplies, and services as needed. Determine and implement changes in design and splicing plans when necessary. Coordinate and schedule splicing projects with customers Create and obtain lane closures when needed. Ensure project packages are complete and correct.
