This is a 12-month initial contract on W2 with the potential to extend or convert to FTE. Additionally, this is a cleared role so all candidates must be USC with an active Public Trust Clearance. This position involves close supervision, detailed instructions, and constant performance checks. Position Overview: NTI is seeking a Traveling Foreman with will lead a team, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to customer quality standards while performing advanced fiber optic splicing and testing tasks. This role requires national travel to various project sites and combines leadership, project management, and technical expertise in fiber optic infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Ensure project safety, quality, schedule, and cost compliance with company/client standards. Lead 2-3 crew members, optimizing skills and equipment use. Act as primary liaison between Project Manager and crew. Interpret customer prints to plan tasks and schedule work. Hold daily pre-work meetings to align on goals and safety. Verify construction and splicing work meets standards. Complete phase-specific closeout documentation. Document job progress with photos. Maintain company equipment (vehicles, trailers, test tools). Perform precise fusion and mid-sheath splicing on high-count fiber cables (864ct, 1728ct, 3456ct). Conduct live fiber splicing during maintenance windows to minimize disruptions. Install fiber optic cables in various environments (underground, aerial, indoor). Execute OTDR/OLTS testing to assess cable performance. Troubleshoot and resolve live network fiber issues. Produce FastReporter reports for test and splicing documentation. Operate Fujikura splicers and EXFO testers for low-loss splices and diagnostics. Pull fiber cables through conduits/ducts for installations. Support cabinet bolting and basket tray installation (preferred). Safely operate scissor lifts for elevated work (preferred). Comply with OSHA, IBEW Local, and NTI safety standards Maintain a clean workspace and follow proper handling procedures for fiber optic materials and equipment. Work Schedule and Environment Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, adapting to project requirements. Perform tasks during daytime and occasional nighttime maintenance windows as required by client schedules. Stand for extended periods (8-10 hours per day) and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. xperience and Education 5+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry with related experience in construction and tower work. 2-3 years of verifiable experience splicing and testing fiber optic cables for dark fiber providers (e.g., Zayo), meeting stringent quality and performance standards. 3+ years of hands-on experience using Fujikura fusion splicing machines for high-count fiber splicing (864ct, 1728ct, 3456ct). 3+ years of experience performing OTDR and OLTS testing with EXFO testing equipment. 2+ years of experience producing FastReporter reports for network documentation. Qualifications & Skills Proven ability to perform mid-sheath (ring-cut) splicing and live fiber network splicing with minimal service disruption. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving issues on live/active network fiber. Familiarity with cable pulling, cabinet bolting, basket tray installation, and scissor lift operation (preferred). Strong written and oral communication skills for effective team and client interactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation and reporting. Strong interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic. Ability to pass a clean background check and drug screen. Valid driver's license required. Fluency in English for effective communication. Certification in fiber optic splicing or testing (e.g., FOA CFOT, BICSI, or equivalent) preferred. Prior experience with major telecommunications carriers or dark fiber providers beyond Zayo preferred. Familiarity with additional fiber optic testing tools or software beyond EXFO and FastReporter preferred. Amentum is seeking a Controls Technician, HVAC to join our team in McLean, VA! Purpose/Scope Operate, repair, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage the control systems and associated subsystems. Coordinate with the designated liaison on all current and future modification to the BMS. Responsibilities * Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on hardware for the assigned computer systems. * Troubleshoot and schedule field repairs for instrumentation associated with the assigned computer systems. * Troubleshoot software program problems in the assigned computer systems. * Perform in-house training of personnel on operation of assigned systems. * Make database changes, develop, and install graphic screens to enhance operation and maintenance. * Monitor operations, implement new ideas, and establish trends toward Energy Management of the assigned systems. * Define levels of access into the assigned systems. * Develop and update floor plans or sensor locations throughout the building. * Review and update alarm messages. * Review alarm printout for possible system malfunctions. * Conduct a daily inspection tour of the entire environmental control system, and related equipment, at this facility to perform period preventive maintenance. * Test and adjust the control systems in accordance with a well-defined program. * Install, maintain, and repair electronic and pneumatic equipment, such as building equipment controls, etc., and order parts required to make necessary repairs. * Maintain a complete service workbench for electronic and/or pneumatic repairs. * Synchronize operation of electric devices of 120 Volts and below, pneumatic, and mechanical sensing, control and recording devices. * Adjust manual and automatic controls for HVAC systems. * Check all safety valves and devices * Perform other job-related duties. * Direct repair personnel as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Eight years' experience in maintenance and repair of pneumatic and electronic pneumatic control required. * Must possess a Journeyman HVAC license, or Maryland Grade I Stationary Engineer License, or DC 3rd steam boiler engineer license or equivalent. * Must have Universal CFC * High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required. * Be well-versed in AC/DC Electronic theory and solid-state electronics, digital electronic theory, DDC controls, computer operations and theory. * Can maintain, calibrate, and repair various parts of the system using equipment such as digital multimeter, analog voltmeter, variable power supplies, and Simpson meter. * Have familiarity with Building Management Systems. * Be willing to go off site for in-depth training on appropriate system. * Be familiar with how to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and electronic pneumatic controls. * Familiarity with Honeywell Building Management System, Excel, and Excel 500 Systems, preferred * NFPA-70E Training * OSHA 10 Training * Ability to write and provide written correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. * Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions. * A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as over time, weekends, and holidays. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government security clearance.
