Assists teachers in preparing instructional materials/activities. Assists students to reinforce material already presented through special efforts and repetitions; preparing and maintaining files and reports; as well as assisting with data collection. Assists classroom teacher(s) in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks. Assists in providing individual and small-group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students' abilities.     Job Title: Instructional Paraprofessional Terms of Employment: 192 Days Pay Grade: 105 (High School Diploma) 106 (Associate Degree) 107 (Bachlor Degree) The purpose of this position is to assist the teacher in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. Essential Duties Prepares for classroom activities under the supervision of a licensed teacher. Works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher. Assists individual children in need of special attention. Performs classroom clerical duties. Grades independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher. Assists the teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as snack time, bathroom time, lunchroom, and activity periods. Sets up audio-visual equipment and other instructional materials. Assists in reviewing and checking student work. Assists in drill work. Assists with reading and storytelling. Participates in in-service training as needed and offered. Assists the teacher in duties relating to the supervision of playground, cafeteria, and bus loading activities. Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign. Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications Must be a high school graduate and demonstrate an aptitude for the work to be performed. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
