Position: Electrician Department: Facilities/Operations Supervisor: Facilities Manager Description: Full time - 12 Months Benefits Eligible Union Status: Non-Collective Bargaining (non-union) SCOPE OF DUTIES Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, is responsible for assessing and maintaining electrical components. The Electrician will be expected to identify any current concerns/issues and implement corrective actions in accordance with the safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code. PRIMARY DUTIES Ability to look at electrical blueprints and scan them for issues/concerns. Ability to assess electrical grids and evaluate them for any problems to ensure correct installation. Ability to identify issues and make corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components. Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels). Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units. Ability to utilize testing devices to identify and report electrical problems. Monthly inspections of Building Electrical Systems including Emergency, exit lighting and Gfi receptacles. On-call during heating season and on a rotating schedule with co-workers. Works with outside vendors on system repairs and servicing. Assists with preventative maintenance to include a system of overview. Work with Facilities Manager to develop and maintain a provider maintenance plan Assists with weather emergencies. Comply with all safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code. Perform other duties as assigned.
