Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Handle a high-volume caseload of personal injury cases from intake through settlement.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them updated on case progress and addressing any questions or concerns.
Medical Records & Bills: Request, review, and organize medical records, bills, and other essential documents to support the case.
Demand Letters: Draft demand letters to insurance companies summarizing injuries, medical treatment, and damages.
Insurance Correspondence: Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding claims, demands, and negotiations.
Lien & Subrogation Resolution: Identify, verify, and negotiate medical liens and subrogation claims.
Administrative Support: Assist attorneys with case-related tasks, including drafting correspondence, preparing settlement documents, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Investigation Support: Gather and analyze evidence, including police reports, witness statements, and medical documentation.
Organization & Documentation: Maintain case files in an organized and up-to-date manner, ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or associate's degree in paralegal studies (with paralegal certificate) preferred
2-3 years of experience working as a paralegal required
Proficient at using Microsoft Office suite (including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
Familiarity with Filevine (Case Management Software) and general computer aptitude is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills required
Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Understanding of Personal Injury case management
Able to maintain professional relationships through excellent interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
