. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e., bonus, incentives, and/or commission). Responsible for producing a high volume of good quality consumer and real estate loans. Also responsible for ordering credit reports, analyzing data, approving or denying credit requests and collection of delinquent loans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Interviews loan applicants explaining loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements; gather the required information to provide a complete application to the appropriate loan processor.
Conducts loan closings. Ensures all documents are appropriately signed and all underwriting conditions are met. When necessary, takes all steps necessary to perfect the Bank's lien position.
Disburse funds on construction and home improvements loans in accordance with Bank guidelines.
Manages and supervises individual loan portfolios. Develops and maintains existing customer base and build customer satisfaction and confidence in the Bank.
Maintains the asset quality of lending portfolio. Reviews delinquency reports, performs routine follow up with past due customers and coordinates collection efforts with other loanofficers. When necessary, repossesses and liquidates collateral and works with Bank's attorney when court action is required.
Analyzes and makes decisions regarding the Bank's credit check program and collects any delinquent accounts.
Reviews daily overdrafts, determine whether to return or pay checks and produces follow-up letter on accounts overdrawn over ten (10) days.
Assists other loanofficers with underwriting questions or program information.
Orders title work for real estate loans, reviews same and takes care of any curative matters that may arise.
Proactively identify, develop and maintain a quality network of business relationships with Realtors, Attorneys and other professional contacts that serve as a source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities.
Cross-sell bank products and services in a professional manner.
Completed required training associated with job function.

Qualifications Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent advanced training in a financial institution or loan setting.
Must register and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Promote credit union products and services based on member needs that transpire from member interviews. Maintain current knowledge of all credit union's services and policies. 6) Review application and approve loans; taking loans required by policy to another loanofficer, credit manager or V.P. for signature.
7) Disburse loan proceeds as authorized.
8) Notify members whose loans have not been approved. May assist applicant in finding other means of meeting financial obligations. In certain cases, is assisted by Loan Supervisor or Financial Counselor.
9) Receive approved loan deferment agreements. Make certain that terms are recorded in member's folder and that appropriate computer records are changed.
10) Answer telephone requests for loan information. Take applications by telephone and completes transaction by mail.
11) Know credit union's philosophy and policies so as to answer inquiries of a specific nature.
12) Handle Share Certificate inquiries and transactions for both regular and IRA CDs.
