Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor schedules, coordinates, and supervises the maintenance crew, preventive/predictive maintenance, and mechanical repair activities.
What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Provides technical assistance in the safe use of tools and equipment, training new and current employees on proper procedures, techniques, and safety precautions.
Schedules and coordinates daily preventive/predictive maintenance and mechanical repair activities and projects.
Inspects job sites before beginning maintenance projects to identify hazards and ensure a safe work environment.
Operates computerized preventive maintenance and repairs system to prepare work orders, document work activities, and maintain all records.
Assesses and gives performance feedback to the maintenance crew.
Maintains records of attendance and paid time off.
Analyzes and writes job procedures for new jobs and modifies procedures for existing jobs
Estimates time and parts required to complete projects and repairs.
Collaborates with Purchasing Agent to ensure adequate supplies are ordered or in stock for projects.
Assists in contacting vendors and obtaining contractors regarding maintenance needs
Attends and regularly conducts safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
Coordinate and supervises the work of contractors for specified maintenance activities
Assists in preparing the budget for capital expenditures planned for maintenance projects and repairs
Participates in the monthly conference calls with Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).

To succeed in this position, you will need:
High School Diploma or GED is required
2 year/Associates Degree in a related area is preferred
Minimum 3 years of supervisory or maintenance experience in engineering, or facility management in a similar position in related field.
A combination of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a diploma/degree.
Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of maintenance and repair required for plant equipment and structures
Demonstrates project management skills
Ability to uses independent judgment

* Ensures that maintenance employees are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
* Provides for training and development as well as coaching and counseling.
* Responsible for strategic long term maintenance planning to include infrastructure monitoring and improvements.
* Ensure efficient utilization of mill manpower and contractors to include oversight of various long term contract agreements.
* Monitor behaviors within organizational boundaries to maintain a culture embedded in professionalism, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, respect, and trust.
* Manage mill wide mobile equipment.
* Coordinate and work closely with Stores & Accounting to ensure adequate spare parts availability while optimizing overall inventory levels.

Scope of Responsibility:
The MaintenanceManager directs the Maintenance department to perform equipment repairs, and schedules preventive maintenance for all production equipment. This position initiates operating improvements through innovative maintenance techniques and manages the preventative maintenance program through the plant and equipment.
Essential Duties:
* Minimizes operating costs, and optimizes the utilization of technicians, materials and assets.
* Partners with Production Supervisors to effectively perform maintenance and repair equipment failures.
* Provides technical expertise to increase the number of zero breakdown machines and reduce breakdown reoccurrences.
* Interfaces with operations, safety, facilities and planning at daily production meetings on status of all equipment.
* Coordinates maintenance and improvement learning's by gathering and maintaining knowledge from "outside in" experiences.
* Coordinates processes to develop and train maintenance, manufacturing technicians, and supervisors on how to effectively operate equipment.
* Coordinates the Planned Maintenance (PM) process and technician resources to deliver reliable maintenance processes establishing critical equipment priorities and spare parts inventory status for all new equipment and modifications.
* Drives improvements during equipment changes to deliver new procedures, breakdown reduction, root cause analysis, risk and hazard analysis toolkits and manages the reduction of breakdown reoccurrences using a tracking process.
* Maintains an integrated maintenance master plan and works with Purchasing to manage costs.
* Leads a team of Maintenance professionals across multiple operating shifts to ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed.
* Promotes a working environment that exhibits strong communication and teamwork within and outside of the Maintenance Department.
* Develops and ensures adherence to preventive maintenance activities for all manufacturing, logistical, and facility assets.
* Ensures new, changed or obsolete equipment is properly monitored and preventive maintenance criteria and frequency are adjusted accordingly.
* Monitors and measures equipment performance such as planned vs. unplanned maintenance activity, burden rates, mean time between failures, rate of return, maintenance costs and similar metrics.
* Provides (or ensures provision of) strong technical expertise and training to Maintenance professionals.
* Managesmaintenance and repair work orders and ensures proper scheduling of priorities for Maintenance personnel and resources.
* Ensures proper document control and updating of Maintenance policies, procedures, and records.
* Assists the management team to ensure equipment is safe to operate and promotes environmental stewardship.
* Actively seeks and evaluates new equipment or improvements to existing equipment that will lower operating expenses or future capital investments.
* ManageMaintenance activities by way of CMMS or similar MaintenanceManagement software application.
* Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (preferred) and/or equivalent work experience.
* Extensive technical and mechanical knowledge in Maintenance-related skills and trades such as electrician, tool and die maker, machinist and fabricator, HVAC technician, plumber, and heavy equipment and material handling mechanic.
* Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of heavy industry mechanical systems including Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electrical.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Heavy Manufacturing as a Maintenance Technician (or similar).
* Experience in maintenance planning.
* Basic computer skills: Data management and analysis; word processing; spreadsheets, email and internet.
* Minimum 5 years of experience delivering reliability improvements in a fast changing manufacturing plant environment(s).
* Minimum 2 years experience managingMaintenance Team Leads and employees.
* Applied working knowledge of time, condition, and predictive based maintenance processes.
* Demonstrated competency managing Technicians and/or Mechanics who are experienced primarily in machine maintenance as well as electrical in a manufacturing plant.
* Experience with a CMMS (Computerized MaintenanceManagement System).
* Experience managing Planned Maintenance practices.
* Experience coaching, mentoring, motivating and managing employees' skills.
* Willingness and ability to work flexible hours across all shifts as needed to meet business demands.
Physical Requirements
* Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities
* Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed
* Must be able to perform physical activities that require the use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching
* Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
* Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
* Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources

About the Role:
As a MaintenanceManager, you will be a key player in providing leadership and strategic direction for the production maintenance group, at the Carrollton, TX, plant, a manufacturer of quality refrigerated dough products.
This role will provide maintenance leadership to deliver a world-class operation. Lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement (TPM) tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork.
You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
Playing a leading role in ensuring a safety-first culture through actively supporting the site's health and safety program in addition to ensuring that all Food Safety and Quality guidelines are followed.
Responsible for leading the maintenance department as the Plant Progressive Maintenance Pillar leader.
Driving standards and consistency across the maintenance department. Function as a technical and business resource in areas of system operations and production requirements.
This position requires considerable interaction with plant floor personnel, leadership team, engineering, external support, and vendors.
Supports the role of Project Manager for annually allocated capital budget to help grow business, improve operational efficiency, and improve site infrastructure and support site safety and quality projects.
Providing coaching, training, feedback and mentorship to maintenance technicians, coordinators, and admin staff.
Important Details:
This is a full-time, on-site role on first shift. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is preferred.
Five years or more in a technical management or supervisory role within food manufacturing industry is required.
Strong knowledge of electronics, controls, mechanical and electrical components found in food manufacturing machinery as well as proper safety standards for food production equipment.
Experience in creating, executing, and monitoring manufacturing technical standards and procedures.
Knowledge of lean and six sigma techniques and tools are an asset.
Experience in the use of a computerized maintenancemanagement system (CMMS) to successfully run a maintenance department; knowledge in SAP Plant Maintenance a plus.
Demonstrated problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP and maintenancemanagement software.
