The Pump Plant Maintenance Operator I position, based at the Hinds Pumping Plant, is an intermediate-level role responsible for carrying out operational activities at the desert pumping plants. Key duties include implementing water flow adjustments, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and assisting with maintenance tasks. Additional responsibilities involve operating, maintaining, and testing domestic water systems within both the pumping facilities and associated residential areas. The position also performs water quality analyses for distribution and drinking water systems, supports system shutdowns, and conducts high voltage switching. Further duties include starting and stopping main pumping units and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all assigned systems. Expectations of Hours of Service, Emergency and Stand-by Service: Employees in this position may be required to work off-shift hours and/or stand-by services to address operational needs and emergencies as required.
