Mr. Thomas E. Gottwald is Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer of NewMarket Corporation. He is Director of the Company since 1994; President and Chief Executive Officer of NewMarket since March 03, 2004, having previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ethyl Corporation from June 1, 2001 through June 30, 2004 and President and Chief Operating Officer of Ethyl prior thereto.

Throughout his approximately 25-year career in information technology, MacKenzie has generated notable achievements in new business development and organic growth initiatives as well as merger/acquisition activity, business partnerships, generating transaction-based revenue and overseeing successful new product launches. MacKenzie holds dual bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics from Utah State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
