The ACU, located on 3 Green, will care for patients from acute to intermediate levels of care. These patients will include those who require complex care coordination for greater than 24 hours. The ACU will be managing patients who require services like telemetry monitoring, non-titrating vasoactive drips and stable Bi-pap patients. The ACU will have a high focus on organization and care coordination to decrease length of stay and avoid duplication of services.

*What You Will Do:*
* Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice; Assists provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments; Perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of a provider, including set up of procedures.
* Administer medications under the direction of the provider, according to the organization's standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
* Assist in emergency situations under the direction of the provider
* Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to patients and family members (diagnosis, disease process etc.).
* Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
* Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Graduate of a school of nursing
* Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
* Current BLS/CPR
* Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team
* Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred

The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) will be utilized to assess, triage, and provide first-aid treatment for workplace injury and illness with a focus on preventing initial injuries and worsening of existing injuries.
This role will play a critical part in communication between local safety leadership, other occupational health services, and internal partners, such as Claims, Corporate Safety, and Worker's Compensation. The Occupational Health Nurse should be knowledgeable of HIPAA requirements and handling of confidential medical information. You will also be responsible for completing required record keeping, actively participating in safety meetings throughout areas of support, and educating employees on health-related topics. A crucial element of the OHN role will be accessibility and visibility, both to employees and management. As a Occupational Health Nurse you will travel to work sites, participate in Safety meetings, and build trust and rapport with employees as a resource for both work- and non-work-related injury and illness treatment, prevention, follow-up, wellness, and well-being.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assess all work-related injuries and illnesses, either in-person or video and make appropriate referrals for medical treatment requiring more than first aid
Document all work related and non-work-related events, initial injury/illness and updates in appropriate record keeping systems
Provide first aid care
Alert appropriate individuals/groups of all work-related events and provide updates as appropriate.
Follow-up with injured and ill workers as appropriate
Serve as a resource for non-work-related injuries and illnesses
Provide in-person or virtual education to employees, either individually or in groups
Actively participate in safety meetings and events at all appropriate levels; prepare presentations/updates
Support other NiSource resources for injury prevention or help develop new programs
Provide assessments for injury prevention, such as ergonomic evaluation
Refer employees to external health and medical agencies for consultation and information regarding specific medical conditions
Maintain organization to ensure case management protocols are followed
Participate in quality assurance activities, such as case management meetings, documentation audits, and program evaluation

** Summary:**
This position will be mostly clinic with some morning rounding
1 weekend per month weekend rounding
No call or holidays
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), including Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), work in collaboration with the physician primarily in the outpatient setting caring for acute, chronically ill or injured patients. Responsibilities will vary depending on specialty.
**Responsibilities And Duties:**
Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician and may perform services authorized by the supervising/collaborating physician that are part of the physician's normal course of practice and expertise. Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives. Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice. Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
Master's Degree: Nursing (Required) APRN - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License - State of Ohio Board of Nursing, BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
**Additional Job Description:**
position will be primarily outpatient/ambulatory with occasional inpatient rounding
