JOB SUMMARY
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Hospital Clinic
Responsible for providing health care for patients in designated primary or specialty areas, including patient diagnoses, treatment, education, and referrals. The physician in this position will focus on preventing, diagnosing, and treating work related illnesses and injuries, workers compensation injury treatment and consultation referrals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs complete history and physical examinations for patients.
Serve as a staff provider at clinic.
Educates patients and makes recommendations related to current health, wellness and nutrition.
Assist in making referrals, triage requests and follow-up with patients as necessary.
Maintain appropriate records detailing the patient's evaluation and recommendations. Initiates timely referrals when the problem exceeds scope of practice and/or expertise.

All LifeGift surgeons are required to travel to donor hospitals in the Houston metropolitan area, Ft. Worth and Lubbock/Amarillo to perform a surgical recovery. All travel is managed by the LifeGift Logistics Department.
Requirements for the position:

Medical degree (MD/DO) preferred.
Completion of general surgery residency or equivalent training.
Transplant fellowship preferred.
2 years minimum experience in abdominal organ procurement.
Travel by land and/or air to donor hospitals.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
