Complexity/Scope of Work
This position consists of patient care duties. The purpose of this position is to provide patient care to the patients of OHC. Successful performance ensures the effective and efficient operation of the OHC and affects the quality of care and patient outcomes.

Contacts are typically with patients, OHC and GPTLHB employees, members of the general public, personnel of other IHS facilities, and providers.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
The work is typically performed standing or sitting. The work is typically performed in a clinic setting which requires normal safety precaution for infection control and environmental safety measures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of South Dakota, or ability to obtain full or temporary license prior to start date. Full and unrestricted license must be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
Must obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment.
Must successfully pass a criminal and background check and a pre-employment drug screen.

Inpatient EEG wet reads are done by neurohospitalists, and on weekdays epileptologists make the final read and report

The Neuroscience Center is a busy tertiary care center that serves a 5-state region
It includes a busy regional sleep center, neurohospitalist service, neurointerventionalist service, and comprehensive outpatient neurology services.
