Effectively guide, educate and train internal operational partners on safety best practices and policies/procedures with the goal of continually reducing the onset of injuries and improving site safety performance.
Serve as a technical expert on hazard recognition, assessment & counter-measuring in a variety of industrial environments including but not limited to Warehousing, Grounds, and Industrial/Technical Cleaning operations.
Coordinate compliance programs/procedures and perform audits.
Coordination and participation of Leadec's incident investigation process serving primarily as a facilitator and technical advisor.
Serve as liaison for Leadec under their direction with regulatory agencies.
Assist and advise in the selection of personal protective equipment.
Coordinate and assist with industrial hygiene monitoring programs.
Maintain safety training/medical records in accordance with legal requirements and company policy.
Ensure all incident/injury reports are submitted properly in accordance with legal requirements and company policy.
Serve as primary liaison between sites and the Workers' Compensation Manager with regards to injury (Workers' Compensation) claims.
Adhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001.
Travel will be limited/minimal: training and/or conferences.

Requirements:
Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field. 3 to 5 years of related experience or equivalent.
CSP or ASP certification preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through; a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local safety & health regulations; a full understanding of Leadec Safety Policy.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/activities.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization as well as with customers and regulatory agencies.
Good interpersonal, deductive reasoning and coaching skills.
Must demonstrate competency level in personal computing skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite.

Position Description: Provide training to construction project team for safe work practices to educate and enforce adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs, policies and procedures. About the Role
As a Safety Specialist at our Tulane site, you'll join xAI's Health, Safety, and Environment team ensuring a secure and compliant workplace for our cutting-edge projects. Working onsite with dedicated teams, you'll tackle safety challenges, implement robust protocols, and maintain high standards to keep operations running smoothly. Expect to dive into risk assessments, foster a culture of safety, and support xAI's mission to accelerate human scientific discovery through AI.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and xAI safety standards.
Oversee the inventory of safety supplies, restocking as needed to maintain adequate resources for emergency response and daily operations.
Perform manual sound and air quality assessments to ensure a healthy work environment, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Provide immediate first aid care to employees as required, coordinating with external medical services when needed.
Uphold and enforce site-specific safety plans, policies, and protocols, conducting training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness.
Required Qualifications
OSHA 30 certification.
Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive, Calendar).
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess and address safety risks effectively.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to support site operations or respond to emergencies.
Physical Requirements:
Physical capability to perform site inspections, including walking, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or Nursing certification/experience, with the ability to respond to medical emergencies.
Background in electrical or mechanical systems, preferably in an industrial or construction setting.
2+ years of experience in construction safety or a related field, with a proven track record of implementing safety protocols.
Familiarity with incident investigation and root cause analysis to prevent future safety incidents.
Experience with safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001) or environmental monitoring tools.
Strong communication skills to deliver safety training and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
