What you'll do:
Position Overview:
The shipping clerk will manage shipment process, freight, and logistics for Low Voltage Busway group. They will be responsible for the full life cycle of the outbound and inbound shipping process. This includes completion of appropriate shipping paperwork, assigning tracking, and working with freight companies to align shipments to customer dates.
In this function you will:
You will support the supply chain materials process to fulfill customer requirements/orders by producing quality products, safely, in a timely manner following Standard Work.
• Comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines.
• Sustainment of 5S+ in area.
• You will proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.
• You will be responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before shipping, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
• Respond to change notices, customer requested adjustments and development needs.
• Identify special or non-standard conditions and notify supervision.
• Request shipping releases using appropriate AMS transactions and maintain shipping records.
• Manage shipment process for final products shipped to external customers and prepare assemblies for shipment or storage, as appropriate.
• Maintain monthly Freight on Board (FOB) process.
• Schedule dedicated trucks for shipping and delivery while managing costs and logistics.
• Analyze premium freight to maintain accurate amounts of PF costs.
• Execute all daily close out tasks for all outgoing shipments.
• You will use supply chain tracking systems to maintain inventory and use scanners to issue items to trucks.
• Confirm customer orders in Vista system to ensure shipment credits are earned for the business.
• Pack, crate, and tape finished product according to instructions and prepare for shipping.
• Use material handling equipment to move product and supplies.
• Assist other associates in shipping with material handling, storeroom, receiving and shipping associates with crating, and boxing.
• You will be responsible for communicating daily pass down information across shifts.
• Use appropriate lift assist or partner lift when moving material/products. May lift and carry up to 40 lbs and push or pull up to 100 lbs.
