If you have any questions, feel free to ask during the interview process! **Overview** **Responsibilities of Shipping & Receiving Clerk** The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for: + Pulling orders accurately in preparation for prompt shipment and verification. + Keeping accurate records of all materials received and issued. + Verifying that materials are delivered to the correct departments or properly stored in the warehouse. + Receiving all special items for projects, inspecting and storing them until requested for projects. + Loading all items being requested in a safe manner. **Responsibilities** **Specific Responsibilities of Shipping & Receiving Clerk** The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for: + Receiving and unloading incoming materials. + Helping load all material orders that have been pulled for jobs. + Noting back/ordered items. + Inspecting items according to instructions; reporting damaged goods to supervisor; and arranging for any necessary returns. + Entering receipt of goods into computerized inventory records, including item number, quantity, price, etc., according to instructions. + Using dolly or carrying small items to proper department or storage place within the warehouse. + Reconciling computer records with physical inventory according to established schedule. + Reporting any discrepancies to supervisor. + Packaging orders for out-of-town shipments. + Performing other duties and assignments as directed by management. + Capable of reading instructions from material orders that need to be filled. + Accurately organizing materials to maintain clean and neat work areas. + Keeping all items in a safe and orderly storage area until they are requested. + Keeping the warehouse clean and neat. + Ensuring that requested items are loaded safely and timely. + Advising Warehouse Manager whenever backorders occur. + Preparing any and all items needing to be shipped out by freight carrier. **Qualifications** **Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications** **Education** + High school diploma or GED. **Experience and Skills** + Ability to input data on computer to create a daily inventory report. + Accuracy in recordkeeping and in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying items received. + Able to operate forklift in a safe and professional manner. + Good communication skills: verbal and written. + Must have a valid driver's license. + Computer proficiency. + Accurately organize items to maintain a clean and neat area. + Good finger dexterity to input data into inventory records. + Great concern for cleanliness. + Able to have knowledge of electrical parts and their functions. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. + Well-versed in the industry and the company's competitors. + Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary. **Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications** + Not applicable. **Travel Requirements** + 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location. **Physical/Work Environment Requirements** + Ability to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situations. + Climb ladders of all types. + Good visual acuity to inspect shipments. + Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers. + Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, and climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead. + Ability to work while constantly moving on one's feet. + Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock. + Physical strength to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. **Pay Range** USD $17.26 - USD $23.00 /Hr. Administers, monitors and reports inventory of one central warehouse and various sites to ensure adequate supplies are maintained for normal business needs of the BHA, including administration and maintenance operations; ensures barcodes are matched and attached to all supplies as specified in BHA policy; maintains a Just in Time system of ordering and stocking certain materials and equipment. Develops, and maintains current central warehouse catalogue listing, standardized supplies and equipment approved for purchase, including office supplies and standardized maintenance materials and equipment. Assures that equipment, materials and supplies are tracked to barcodes of individual dwelling units or business offices. Assists with researching the best price and quality of supplies requested by others or needed to replenish stock. Checks incoming and outgoing material for numerical accuracy, quality, and descriptions and barcoding where necessary. May process requisition orders plus shipping and receiving documentati on. Detects, resolves, and reports discrepancies with inventory to supervisor. Responsible to maintain and track all warehouse equipment and tools. Maintains a log for all BHA equipment and tools that are checked out by a staff member and ensures proper return. Performs accountability checks for checked out equipment on a monthly basis. Travels to vendors to obtain ordered materials as needed. Delivers materials to properties, offices, and employees as needed. Completes site audits, cycle counts, and semi-annual inventories. Assesses small tools inventory biannual to assure accuracy. Tracks capital equipment and records activities relating to fixed assets. With assistance from the Director of Maintenance and Modernization and the Maintenance Supervisor, develops and implements a program to standardize equipment at the housing sites and in the office to minimize inventory and provide for economical maintenance of the BHA properties.
