The Stabilization Center is a 100% voluntary walk-in hub for people of all ages to connect - 24/7/365 - with an integrated team of behavioral health professionals, peer specialists and registered nurses when they're experiencing emotional distress, acute psychiatric symptoms, substance use challenges, intoxication, family issues, and other life stressors. Stabilization Center guests have immediate access to crisis counseling and behavioral health assessments, substance use counseling, peer advocacy and support, youth and family counseling, and immediate linkages to other supportive, community-based resources. The Stabilization Center is looking for a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC or CASAC-T) who will provide direct services to individuals (including youth), and families, including assisting in assessments, treatment plans, and discharge planning. The CASAC is intended to provide direct clinical care services and substance use disorder counseling, including:
Crisis de-escalation and intervention
Assessment and service planning
Referral; and linkages to treatment
Substance Use Disorder counseling and education

Qualifications
EDUCATION
* Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
EXPERIENCE
* Clinical working experience as an NP/PA in the specialty/service line is preferred but not required.
* APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS hospital and go through the Medical Staff credentialing process. To be eligible, evidence of current competence to practice as an APRN, PA, CRNA, or CNM must be provided. This includes obtaining appropriate reference letters from physicians and other practitioners during the Medical Staff appointment process.
LICENSURE
* Active PA Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS Certified, when indicated for position profile DEA License.
* Pediatric position profile PALS, when indicated for neonatal care NRP Certification.
* Additional licensure, certifications and/or continuing education credits may be required during employment based on position and area of specialty. OR Connecticut State Registered Nurse License, Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License, Board specialty certification, as appropriate for position profile ACLS/BLS Certified, when indicated for position profile DEA License.

PURPOSE:
To serve as an integral member of the instructional team, providing services to individual students participating in the English Language Learners (ELL) program. These services may be provided through the ESL Program, Bilingual Program, or other programs designed to support families whose home language is not English.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work with individual students or small groups under the supervision of a certified teacher to reinforce materials or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
* Record student achievements and assessment data as directed by the teacher.
* Assist the teacher in planning learning experiences based on students' language development levels.
* Support students in a single classroom or rotate across multiple classrooms depending on program needs.
* Assist with classroom technology, equipment use, and instructional materials.
* Supervise and assist students during drills, assemblies, field trips, play periods, and other non-classroom activities.
* Check notebooks, correct papers, supervise testing, and support make-up work as assigned.
* Provide information and guidance to substitute teachers during the teacher's absence.
* Support large group instruction, reading sessions, and storytelling.
* Demonstrate understanding and application of strategies for supporting ELL students.
* Alert the teacher to any issues or concerns regarding individual students.
* Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards as required of all school personnel.
* Participate in required professional development and training programs.
* Assist with maintaining compliance documentation as required by federal law for ELL students.
* Guide independent, enrichment, and remedial work as assigned.
* Distribute and collect instructional materials and resources.

The American Sign Language Interpreter is responsible for providing in-person medical interpretation in a healthcare environment for patients, companions, and families who are deaf or deaf/hard of hearing. The individual will have expertise on how to interpret spoken language into American Sign Language, or American Sign Language into spoken language. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:
* Provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in various healthcare / medical settings for patients, companions, and visitors both in-person and virtually.
* Observes interpreter standards of practice such as maintaining professional boundaries, respecting patients' rights, and remaining neutral while supporting patient-provider relationship.
* Serves as a cultural and linguistic resource for hospital staff and patients.
* Understands and adopts the different roles of interpreters (conduit, clarifier, cultural broker, advocate) as appropriate
* Uses discretion when discussing confidential issues. Applies knowledge of ethics and standards of community interpreting to real situations in the healthcare environment.

Education:
