Responsible for relating all pertinent information to the Client when supporting a live project.
Contributes to a master-list of slang words and codes (used by a particular group/organization) for the duration of the project/case.
Maintains a voice library for the duration of the project.
Transcribes and translates pertinent calls and documents as assigned by their supervisor.
Produce court ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents, following the required format.
Responsible for using the various reference tools created during the project.
Ability to transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8-hour day.
Operates specialized software equipment provided by the government to include JSI voice box, Pen-link, Comverse, and other communication collection equipment used at their assigned site.

Responsibilities:
* Provides interpretation services for the Combatant Commander, Military Deputy Commander, Civilian Deputy Commander, the Senior Enlisted Advisor, and others, in Spanish and/or Portuguese (Brazilian) to English.

* Accompany USSOUTHCOM leaders on OCONUS travel supporting the principal with interpretation services during engagements with foreign senior leaders. Likewise, support engagements when hosting foreign dignitaries at USSOUTHCOM Headquarters and during virtual engagements.

* Be on-call for critical conversations with foreign leaders. Ensure that the USSOUTHCOM leader fully understands the literal and nuanced meanings of the foreign leader's statements or interrogatives.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Previous experience being the primary interpreter for a senior principal or group.

* Current Secret security clearance but be eligible for a Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information clearance.
*
* At least 3 years' experience working with or on the OSD or Joint Staff, a Service Staff, CCMD or Operational Staff, a Defense Agency Staff, or an NGO/IGO Staff.
*
* Experience working with the military and familiarity with the military lexicon.
*
* The ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

* Certification of training as an interpreter (consecutive and simultaneous)

* At least a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as, but not limited to, linguistics, Spanish, Portuguese, history, or area studies.
