Position Purpose
- To provided educational interpreting services to assist deaf students access the general education classroom.
Eligibility Requirements- • Applicant has at least a standard high school diploma, HiSET, or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), AND the following specific to the level and area of certification:
• Provisional Educational Interpreter Certificate eligibility requirements: o complete an accredited interpreter preparation program with a minimum of a certificate of completion; hold certification as a sign language interpreter/transliterator by a national or state organization or certifying body; achieve an advanced level or higher, as measured by the sign language proficiency interview (SLPI) or sign communication proficiency interview (SCPI); or pass the pre-hiring screening of the educational interpreter performance assessment (EIPA). Renewal Requirements: valid for one year, may be renewed annually at the request of the employing school system, up to three years; and renewable upon completion of 10 contact hours of professional development annually with course credit leading to a Qualified Certificate applied towards the 10 hours and accrued beginning with the issuance of the Provisional Educational Interpreter Certificate.
• Qualified Educational Interpreter Certificate eligibility requirements: o pass the Educational Interpreter Assessment, Written Test; and o achieve a level of 3.0 on one of the standardized videotape versions of the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment: American Sign Language (ASL), Manually Coded English (MCE), or Pidgin Signed English (PSE) at the Elementary and/or Secondary level. o Renewal Requirements: valid for five years and may be renewed at the request of the employing school system upon completion of six semester hours of credit or equivalent continuing professional development of 90 Contact hours. The six hours of credit or 90 equivalent clock hours shall be directly and substantively related to one or more of the permits or certificates held by the applicant or related to the applicant's professional competency. These hours shall be accrued beginning with the date of certification issuance.
• Provisional Educational Transliterator Certificate eligibility requirements: o hold certification as a cued speech transilterator from a national or state recognized organization or certifying body; or pass the Cued American English Competency Screening. o Renewal Requirements: valid for one year, may be renewed annually at the request of the employing school system, up to three years; and renewable upon completion of ten contact hours of professional development annually with course credit leading to a Qualified Educational Transliterator Certificate and may be applied toward the 10 hours and accrued beginning with the issuance of the Provisional Educational Transliterator Certificate.
• Qualified Educational Transliterator Certificate eligibility requirements: pass the Cued Language Transliterator State level Performance Assessment; or attain a level of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment-Cued Speech (EIPA-CS); and pass the Cued Language Transliterator State Level Written Assessment. Renewal Requirements: may be renewed every five years at the request of the Louisiana employing authority upon completion of six semester hours of credit or equivalent continuing professional development (90 Contact hours). The six hours of credit or 90 equivalent clock hours shall be directly and substantively related to one or more of the permits or certificates held by the applicant or related to the applicant's professional competency.
Essential Job Functions
- Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
- Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
- Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
- Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
- Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas.
- Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision and interpreting services
- Constructs, copies and distribute and use educational materials as needed.
- Assists teacher with parent contact as requested to foster effective and participatory parent involvement in student education.
- Participates in IEP process and serves as resource for the student personnel evaluation team as needed.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.

2. To instruct students, staff, and faculty on the use of an interpreter within a mainstream setting; assist in determining seating arrangements in order to see the teacher, interpreter, and visual aids and supplemental teaching materials
3. To monitor student's progress in the mainstream educational program and report progress to the teacher
4. To collect and record pertinent data for teacher's review
5. To study, review, and become familiar with the lessons and concepts of the various educational subjects; learn technical sign vocabulary specific to each class provide student (s) with technical sign vocabulary specific to each class
6. To provide assistance in clarifying information; encourage student participation in class
discussions; refer discipline problems to the teacher for modification
7. To interpret for a variety of school events and activities; substitute for absent interpreters as needed; assist in the transport of elementary students to and room classes

Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an "Interpreter training program" of at least two (2) years in duration that is accredited by the Mississippi State Board for Community and Junior Colleges, the Mississippi institutions of higher learning or a comparable agency in another state.
Must possess two or more of the following certifications listed below:
National Association of the Deaf (NAD); or
the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID); or
Mississippi Office on Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH); or
Comprehensive Skills Certificate (CSC); or
Certificate of Interpretation (CI); or
Certificate of Transliteration (CT); or
Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI).

Listens to oral and written intercepts or pre-recorded communications in Spanish (Honduran or Mexican Dialects) and provides verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as it may be applicable per project.
Responsible for relating all pertinent information to the Client when supporting a live project.
Contributes to a master-list of slang words and codes (used by a particular group/organization) for the duration of the project/case.
Maintains a voice library for the duration of the project.
Transcribes and translates pertinent calls and documents as assigned by their supervisor.
Produce court ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents, following the required format.
Responsible for using the various reference tools created during the project.
Ability to transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8-hour day.
Operates specialized software equipment provided by the government to include JSI voice box, Pen-link, Comverse, and other communication collection equipment used at their assigned site.
Maintain daily log of productivity.

Description Per Diem Physician - LaPlace, LAToday, BAART Programs, a brand of BayMark Health Services, is a multi-site, multi-service organization providing opioid use disorder treatment and rehabilitation for patients across the country. Providing high-quality, patient-centered treatment for addiction to prescription medications and other opioids remains the focus of BAART Programs'. Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing professional physician services and for performing required administrative duties.
Ensure all staff practice Universal Precautions and are aware of emergency medical procedures to be followed in case of medical emergencies.
Work is performed under operational supervision.
To assume medical responsibility for the Clinic and to supervise all the medical services rendered to patients in the Medical Director's absence.
To authorize and supervise dispensing of daily narcotic replacement therapy and other medication by medical staff.
Essential Job Functions:
Will provide professional physician services under minimal supervision.
Educates patients and their counselors on how to take prescribed medication and possible side effects.
Performs maintenance of medical records for all patients.
Ensures compliance with BAART Programs' policies and other publicly funded programs and HMO contract protocols, as well as specific contractual obligations.
Conducts peer review quarterly according to BAART Programs' policy.
Complies with requirements for maintaining a valid professional license.
Reviews discharges, dosing sheets, outside medical records, outside physical exams, treatment plans and dose changes of patients receiving narcotic replacement therapy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
The ability to communicate with a diverse population is essential.
Problem solving and analytical abilities are also important to evaluate and treat clients.
Drug rehabilitation training/knowledge is helpful.
The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient medical records, laboratory results and demographic information and to communicate in English both orally and in writing is required.
The incumbent must be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and good charting skills are also required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in any residency
1-year of experience in SUD/Addiction Medicine required
Must be licensed in good standing to practice medicine as a physician in Louisiana
Satisfactory drug screen and drug panel
Must be able to provide comprehensive quality patient care and referrals
