Coordinates and delivers both interpretation (oral) and translation (written) services for individuals with limited English proficiency across all Intermountain Health facilities and virtual services. **Essential Functions** + Interpret medical and general information with the highest degree of accuracy and completeness in consecutive, simultaneous and sight translation modes for patients, families, and Intermountain Health staff, using appropriate communication methods according to the individual's developmental age and mental condition.
+ Interpret complex medical information, demonstrating expert knowledge of medical terminology and the healthcare system.
+ Acts as a cultural mediator, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and superior intercultural communication skills. Renders unbiased interpretation to ensure accurate exchange of information in the proper cultural context.
+ Adheres to the National Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice for Healthcare Interpreters, demonstrating knowledge of HIPAA, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

**Required Qualifications**
+ Successful completion of a pre-hire skills assessment.
+ Excellent oral and written command of both source and target language(s) as to obtain a "Professional Proficiency" or Level 3 in the ILR scale (or equivalent as approved by Manager), including specialized healthcare terminology.
+ Performs consecutive, simultaneous and Sight Translation with a high degree of accuracy in both languages.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task.
+ Demonstrated interpersonal verbal and written communication skills to function as part of a team and the flexibility and good judgement to work independently.
