Performs tasks as assigned by the lead teacher including but not limited to gathering and preparing classroom materials, working with individuals or small groups of children, monitoring small group activities, assisting to maintain a developmentally-appropriate and safe environment, assessing children and data entry.
Assists with the preparation of lunch and snacks, as needed. Assists with ensuring the kitchen and food service meets with Health Department requirements for safe and sanitary food conditions including maintaining proper temperature and storage of food.
In accordance with the established schedule, completes necessary daily cleaning required to provide a clean and sanitary building. Such tasks include sanitizing classroom materials, vacuuming carpeted areas, sweeping, and mopping uncarpeted floors, cleaning and sanitizing toilets, counters, and sinks, emptying garbage, and sweeping outside entrances, porches, and sidewalks.
Meets with lead teacher to discuss child outcomes, plan weekly lessons, and update classroom environment as needed.
Participates in training as required.
Assumes role of lead teacher of class due to absence of lead teacher or as otherwise needed.
In consultation with the Education Supervisor, develops own professional work goals and training plan.
Consistently maintains a professional and courteous manner and an ability to work effectively and harmoniously with other employees, parents, students, and the general public.
Maintains regular job attendance and adherence to working hours.
Accepts and performs other work as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. CDA (Child Development Associate Certificate), CDA equivalent certification, an Associates' Degree in Early Childhood Education, or documentation of current enrollment in a program that will lead to an associate's or baccalaureate degree, is required. Must have experience working with children ages 3-5 and be willing to obtain additional training as requested; or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to work with young children in an accepting, positive manner. Must be able to work as a team with educational staff. Ability to work with low-income families. Knowledge of basic sanitation and housekeeping procedures and good personal hygiene habits required. Knowledge of early childhood education fundamentals including planning a safe and healthy learning environment, advancing children's physical and intellectual development, building productive relationships with families, managing effective program operation, maintaining a commitment to professionalism, observing and recording children's behavior, and understanding principles of child development and learning. Ability to work and organize duties in a timely manner. Bilingual (Spanish/ English) is desirable.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license, Food Handlers certification, First Aid and CPR certification, and health verification.
Employment subject to approval by Head Start Policy Council and enrollment in Oregon Child Care Division Criminal History Registry.

DUTIES:

Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Custodian position for the Hatfield Marine Science Center at Oregon State University ( OSU ). This position will be located in Newport, Oregon.
The Hatfield Marine Science Center ( HMSC ) is Oregon State University's campus for research, education, and outreach in marine and coastal sciences. The Marine Science Center is located 55 miles west of the OSU main campus in Newport, OR. Through its partnerships, HMSC improves scientific understanding of marine systems, coastal processes and resources, and applies this knowledge to social, economic, and environmental issues.
The HMSC Custodian position is part of a team working in the evening shift with the primary purpose of ensuring that OSU and specified federal buildings on the HMSC campus are clean, well lit, secure and provide a conducive environment for quality learning and research. 75% Cleaning and Sanitization

Report problems or concerns to the Custodial Services

OMSI Camp Counselors are a passionate team of mentors and youth leaders committed to providing transformative overnight summer camp experiences. Counselors are in charge of small groups of campers in cabins at either the Coastal Discovery Center at Camp Gray (in Newport, Oregon) or at Hancock Field Station (near Fossil, Oregon).
In addition to supervising campers in nearly every activity and aspect of camp, this position also takes on support roles like camp assistant in the dining hall, light cleaning, bus or van monitoring, and assisting team members with activities and lessons. Work schedule depends on programming needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the health and safety of campers (ages 6-17), staying with and monitoring them overnight in cabins/tents, and at tables during meals;
Acts as a positive role model for students and staff at all times, and actively integrates diversity, equity, access and inclusion in all areas.
Ensures that students are prepared for activities and keeping groups on schedule;
Responsible for monitoring and engaging with campers during bus and van rides, recreation, free time, cabin time, and during transitions between activities;
Recognizes, mitigates, and responds to hazards to ensure a healthy and safe program for all participants.
Lifeguard Duties (if certified):
Provides lifeguard supervision of camp guests during swimming/aquatic activities;

Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill future part-time, hourly, intermittent (as needed) Boat Operator: Small Boat Operator (Intermittent) positions in the Marine Operations unit within the Division of Research and Innovation at Oregon State University.
These positions will be located in Newport, Oregon.
Under the direction of the Boating Safety Officer ( BSO ), the Small Boat Operations Boat Operatorperforms a wide variety of routine and semiskilled tasks to support Oregon State University's marine research activities. This position works as part of the Small Boat Program ( SBP ) within the Office of Marine Operations ( OMO ) and provides essential field-based services including vessel operation, launching and retrieval, trailering, general boat and equipment maintenance, and logistical support for small boat operations.
This position plays a key support role in the delivery of marine and freshwater fieldwork, ensuring that university vessels and associated gear are operated safely, maintained effectively, and made ready for research and instructional use by students, faculty, and research collaborators.

Key Responsibilities
Vessel Operations and Field Support - 70%
+ Operates small research vessels (motorized and non-motorized) in marine and freshwater environments.
+ Trailers, launches, and recovers vessels using full-size trucks and other towing equipment.
+ Assists with on-deck operations including gear deployment, line handling, and routine tasks required to support research missions.
+ Makes basic safety and operational assessments based on environmental conditions and equipment readiness
+ Assists in launching, securing, and mooring vessels before and after use.
Equipment and Vessel Maintenance - 20%
+ Performs basic maintenance and cleaning of small boats, motors (inboard/outboard), and trailers.
+ Conducts inspections and simple repairs using hand tools and power tools.
+ Fuels vessels, checks fluids, and monitors engine condition.
+ Keeps records of fuel usage, inspections, and minor repairs.
+ Stores, organizes, and inventories boating equipment and supplies.
General Support and Recordkeeping - 10%
+ Assists in setup and breakdown for trainings, field deployments, and safety drills.
+ Loads and unloads gear and supplies for field operations.
+ Maintains basic logs related to operations, maintenance, and usage.
+ May help guide or coordinate the work of student employees or volunteers on-site.
+ Communicates with staff, researchers, and students to support day-to-day needs of the Small Boat Program.
What We Require
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
High School Diploma and 2 years of vessel operations experience in assigned area of responsibility; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSING / CERTIFICATIONS :
- Boater Education Card issued by the State of Oregonor equivalent;
- Successfully complete First Aid and CPR Training;
- Successfully complete an internal evaluation of related skills provided by a designated member of OSU's Ship Operations staff;
- Ability to speak, read and write English;
- Basic computer skills including use of e-mail, web browsers, word processing.

• Proven expertise and hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst, Meraki dashboard, and Meraki MX/Z/AP series.
• Candidate must be DoD 8570 IAT Level I or Level II compliant.
• Experience in general networking and network administration, upgrade and operations.
• Good technical writing skills with established experience producing reports using the Microsoft Office Suite including Visio. Knowledge of elementary design to the concept level.
• An understanding of telecommunication room (TR), CAT 6, crimps, and wiring standards. Having a BICSI certification is a plus.
