Terry Kellogg was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama in 2010. He joined the organization in 1982 as Vice President & Chief Actuary. He has also served as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President and President & Chief Operating Officer. A member of United Way’s Executive Committee for over eight years, Kellogg has served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and as board Treasurer. He and his wife Laura are members of United Way’s Tocqueville Society. Kellogg received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Kansas. Mr. Shamash assumed the top leadership role in April of 2020 having previously served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary leading the legal, regulatory, and governance teams. He has been uniquely involved in all major facets of Capital BlueCross' business since 2012, including strategic partnerships, overall performance, diversification strategy, subsidiary governance, finance, risk exposure and growth. His guidance has been pivotal in Capital BlueCross' emergence as a leading health plan in one of the country's most competitive healthcare environments. Mr. Shamash previously served as deputy chief of staff for the Pennsylvania Governor's Office, where he oversaw healthcare, insurance, and all health-related agencies. As senior counsel for Jefferson Health System, he was responsible for the oversight of reimbursement, payer relations, and malpractice coverage for the second largest health system in Pennsylvania. As department counsel for the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, he helped to establish managed care regulation mechanisms and health insurance regulations. Mr. Shamash has served on numerous banking, insurance, community, and health-related boards including the Pennsylvania Employee Benefits Trust Fund, Pennsylvania Health Insurance Exchange Authority, Pennsylvania Banking and Securities Commission, as an appointee of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf on the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council, and Harrisburg’s Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Dickinson Law School. A native of Central Pennsylvania, he resides in Cumberland County with his wife and two children.

Pollock holds a B.B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Mr. Christianson has thirty years of experience leading divisions of Fortune 100 companies and in improving mid sized companies that provide SaaS health information technology, revenue cycle management, disease management, and third party administration services to payers, providers and employers. Phil previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Payment America Systems, Focused Health Solutions, RealMed, and Corporate Benefit Services of America, leading each to differentiated and improved services for employers, payers, physicians and hospitals. All four companies were sold to strategic investors. He also lead divisions of The Walt Disney Company and United Health Group. Just prior to joining HealthSmart, Mr. Christianson acted as an advisor to and investor in related health services and information technology companies. Phil earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Southern California, a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
