The Project Manager will provide a keen focus on the quality delivery and profitability of the job by planning, scheduling, and managing the project team while ensuring that the schedule and project goals for the job are met. It is critical that the Project Manager perform this work within the policies, ethical standards and objectives of Hermanson Company. Project Managers will also be responsible for employee training and development (including their own growth and development), coordination with other departments and group managers to help meet strategic company goals, and for providing world-class customer service and building strong customer trust and relationships. The successful Project Management candidate will have the technical and working knowledge generally achieved from at least 5 - 10 years of successful experience in the mechanical construction industry in capacities that would provide direct experience and exposure to Project Manager duties. The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $140,000. (The compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience). Qualifications The successful Project Management candidate will have the technical and working knowledge generally achieved from at least 5 - 10 years of successful experience in the mechanical construction industry in capacities that would provide direct experience and exposure to project manager duties. In addition, we are seeking someone who: Has a proven track record of excellent customer relations and problem solving. Has a strong technical knowledge of mechanical system operations, Developing and managing project plans, schedules, and scopes of work. Preparing client and subcontractor change orders. Monitor, control, and report on the financial performance of projects. Coordination of work with trades, subcontractors and vendors. Coach and mentor project team members. Develop project staffing plans to include labor, subcontractors. Is an accomplished team player. Can demonstrate solid computer and online navigation skills Has good math, communication, and reasoning ability and strong business skills. Education Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering preferred or equivalent education and experience. Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Execution Lead day-to-day field activities for large capital projects and recurring short-duration installations. Oversee mechanical installation, fabrication, welding, equipment assembly, and system integration. Serve as the on-site authority for technical decisions, sequencing, and execution. Ensure work meets engineering drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards. Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and site documentation. Crew & Subcontractor Oversight Direct field technicians and subcontractors across multiple trades. Monitor workmanship, safety compliance, and schedule adherence. Support estimating and planning by evaluating site conditions and labor needs. Act as the primary liaison with customer representatives, engineering teams, and plant leadership. Communicate changes in scope, schedule, risk, or cost and collaborate with project leadership to resolve issues. Qualifications & Experience Education & Background High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school strongly preferred. Ideally 10+ years of industrial mechanical, installation, fabrication, or construction experience. Strong preference for experience in food manufacturing or GMP-regulated environments. Prior experience leading crews or supervising subcontractors in active job-site settings. Technical Expertise Advanced mechanical aptitude (installation, welding/fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics). Ability to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation. Working knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and job-site compliance. Familiarity with AutoCAD or technical drawings is a plus. Leadership & Communication Strong field leadership presence with the ability to direct teams and represent the organization on site. Effective communicator with customers, site leadership, and internal stakeholders. Organized, decisive, and able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
