OVERVIEW

Construction Management
Review and manage the project team's performance.

This position will also manage the job daily and prioritize work for all direct reports.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
6+ years of document control, project engineering, or project coordinator experience in the construction industry is required.
Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, any Engineering discipline, or related field or equivalent education, training, and experience is preferred.
Experience with commercial construction including independent living facilities, housing authority, multi-family homes, industrial, and/or educational institutions is required.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
Working experience with a Project Management Information System (PMIS), such as Kahua is preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Project) is required.

JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Superintendent (Fort Myers) is responsible for assisting Superintendents, Senior Superintendents, and Project Managers in all field-related activities associated with the successful completion of assigned projects, such as job site safety, cost, quality, communication with the architects and consultants, as well as the project schedule. They also work closely with management staff regarding all aspects of the project. The Assistant Superintendent maintains positive relationships with Clients, Architects, Consultants, and Subcontractors while working on field and constructability issues. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in developing the project schedule, subcontracts/purchase orders, and project responsibilities listing.
Work with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Project Team to understand project plans, submittals, blueprints, and construction codes as affected by local and state ordinances.
Ability to assist in all aspects of the project from demo to finish.
Ability to read blueprints.
Orders materials and schedules inspections.
Develops and maintains positive and productive relationships with owners, customers, sub-contractors, suppliers, Project Team, and employees.
Provides administrative support for the Project Superintendent and leadership to project staff.
Coordinates, cooperates, and communicates with the Project Managers, Field Personnel, and Subcontractors.
Assists with completing and submitting schedule updates.
Arranges and secures permits with local cities as needed.
Assists in analyzing job costs and in the maintenance and generation of accurate reporting, while assisting in the analysis of labor costs.
Tracks, reviews, and processes change order requests.
Manages processing and tracking of monthly owner payments as needed.
Implements and trains as needed on all applicable safety processes and procedures.
Manages preparation/execution of project closeout processes.

Position Overview:

The primary role of the Superintendent will be to lead and manage all field operations on their assigned projects, including but not limited to, supervising foreman, managing subcontractors and vendors, quality control, safety management, and equipment utilization and coordination.
Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience on FDOT projects
Knowledgeable of all aspects of construction including underground utilities, grading, earthwork, and roadwork
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
MOT certified Worksite Traffic Supervisor
OSHA certified competent person
Strong leadership and communication skills
Job Description
Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client.
Evaluates specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
Orders procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered to conform to work schedules.
Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Collaborates with management, engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated.
Conducts construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Enforces all safety policies with foreman, crews, and subcontractors on site.
Interviews, hires, and trains site employees on job function and safety standards.
Plans, assigns, and directs work assignments for employees.
Handles employee evaluations, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate management.

Summary
The Project Superintendent directly and through subordinate Superintendents, oversees profitable installation of project work by directing co-workers and interfacing, coordinating and directing other trades. Responsible for all areas on medium or large projects including prime contracts. Responsible for safety, planning, cost and productivity, while perpetuating an SQP culture. Responsible for high level client relationship through professional conduct.
