The Role We Want You For
As an MEP Superintendent, you will be based in the Northeast, and will be responsible for field operations and onsite construction management of design-build construction projects, specifically quality control for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, construction, start up, and testing on highly complex projects nationwide.
The Specifics of the Role
Coordinate with preconstruction, design, engineering, procurement, operations, safety, quality, and all other project site management team members to assure that the there is always adequate project resources.
Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of MEP/FP subcontractors and suppliers.
Coordinate and administer MEP/FP related materials, systems, and shop drawings submittals.
Coordinate and administer MEP/FP RFI's, field changes, and other field engineering related items.
Coordinate and administer MEP/FP Quality Control, Start-up and Energization, Pre-Functional Checklists, and Functional Performance Testing.
Directly responsible for the following but not limited to the following MEP Systems scopes:
Fire Suppression Systems.
Plumbing Systems (DWV, Storm, Domestic Water, etc.) Medical & Natural Gas Systems
Energy and Fuel-Oil Systems.
Compressed-Air & Vacuum Systems.
Chemical-Waste Systems.

Requirements
B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent trade experience with progression to management levels.
10+ years of experience in highly technical commercial/industrial construction management, on projects of 10+ million, ideally with design-build experience.
Ability to supervise construction employees and subcontractors to accomplish work within budget and schedule constraints.
Strong project safety record and commitment to safety and quality.
Strong work ethic and willingness to travel or relocate to jobsite.
Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
Ability to lift objects at least 60lbs.

**Job Description:**
The Construction Site Superintendent's primary responsibility is to ensure a smooth and successful fulfillment to the contract after the design phase. Job Purpose
The role of the Superintendent is to plan, organize, direct, and control the building aspects each project in order to meet budget, quality, time and safety objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Understand and administer the BPGS safety program to include all subcontractors, ensure that all accidents/incidents are promptly reported and investigated, and assist in safety inspections by outside agencies.

Ensure subcontractors have corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
Monitor project activities and assist in future planning.
Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate the work.
Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors for quality of work or scheduling.
Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
Secondary Functions:
Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.
Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the jobsite.
Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.
Preside at pre-construction meeting with each subcontractor.
Opening the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day.
Job Scope:
The Project Superintendent is solely responsible for and will be held accountable for the timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. Project Superintendent shall schedule all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, as well as ensure their completion of work within time allowed. The Project Superintendent shall be responsible for the coordination of work directed in the field, ensure work is performed in accordance with plans and specifications. Conflicts or revisions to the plan shall be communicated with the project team (i.e., superiors, architect, engineer, consultant, owner) for mutual resolution prior to execution of work that deviates from the approved plans. The Project Superintendent shall establish and enforce job site quality control programs to ensure quality completion of construction. The Project Superintendent does not have authorization to engage in monetary agreements (subcontracts, change orders, work authorizations). All request for monetary agreements must be communicated to the Director of Operations for consideration prior to work performed. Failure to perform these duties will result in reprimand or termination.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Superintendent shall supervise all company employees, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors daily. This supervision shall ensure adequate manpower is available for each task and compliant work performed. This position shall be responsible for monitoring project security personnel.

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of five years of verifiable experience, thorough knowledge of trades and use of computer.
Experience in federal government and laboratory space is preferred. Experience with Microsoft office (Excel, word, project & Outlook) and Google Suite is also preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
