    SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Superintendents are responsible for the success or failure of the project. Their involvement starts when a project is awarded to Megawatt. They are responsible for building out the details of the project schedule, establishing the logistics plan, scheduling subcontractors to start work, working with the safety department to develop the Site-Specific Safety Plan and mobilizing to the jobsite. The superintendent works with the project management team to write scopes of work for subcontractors. After the project is started in the field, they continue to manage it against the schedule and the contract documents. They implement and manage the QA/QC and ensure all work is done correctly and in accordance with the master schedule. They schedule special inspections and final inspections to close out the building permits. They manage the punch list and work with the architect and engineer to receive final completion letters and close the project out. SAFETY GOALS: Participates in stretch and flex and round table discussion at beginning of shift. Conducts a site safety audit weekly. Create Site-Specific Safety Plan with Site Safety manager/ Coordinator. Continually audit safety onsite before and after shifts. DAILY GOALS: Manages and updates master schedule. Weekly schedule update meeting with MWE project team. Distributes the schedule to subs, and ensures it is followed. Collects schedules from subs and incorporates into the master schedule. Runs a weekly schedule meeting with the subcontractors. Distributes schedule weekly. Completes daily reports every day with ample photos to show all aspects of work.     The primary function of the Superintendent is to schedule, coordinate and supervise craft employee activities - may involve supervising one or more trade groups and/or subcontractors on the project site. You shall work closely with your Project Manager regarding all project activities. Project Superintendents are encouraged to keep all lines of communication open with the Project Manager and Division Manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Thoroughly review project documents including plans and specifications * Thoroughly review all subcontracts and purchase orders * Understand all items of work and know the budget for each work item * Endeavor to meet or better construction budget * Become familiar with scheduling requirements in an attempt to achieve or beat the project schedule * Manage & Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers on the project * Handle daily project problems with assistance from Project Manager as required * Layout projects for building locations and site work * Verify field dimensions when necessary * Review all submittals and keep them filed in an orderly fashion * Verify all installed materials and equipment are per approved submittals * Keep job site safe and clean * Responsible for Project Safety and EEO * Keep office trailer and tool room/truck clean and orderly * Hire and lay off workers as required * Quality control on our work and subcontractors * Coordinate problem resolution with engineer and owner * Compile all field paperwork * Ensure that required equipment is on the project when needed * Help in keeping track of change order work and extra work * Monitor and ensure that punch list items are completed in a timely manner * Review cost sheets and keep updated with the help of the Project Manager * Coordinate weekly subcontractor's meetings with the project team * Update look ahead schedule weekly with the project team QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum of 5 years of field experience. Primary duties will include leading construction crews, field documentation, managing onsite subcontractors, scheduling work, and tracking productivity. **Responsibilities** Essential functions will include: + Interpret and apply construction documents, including plans, specifications, contracts, shop drawings, submittals, and schedules independently. + Coordinate daily activities with owner representatives, project managers, foremen, craft workers, and subcontractors to resolve on-site challenges. + Actively participate in and support the health and safety program, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with OSHA standards. + Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards. + Manage labor and equipment resources effectively to maintain project schedules and control costs. + Communicate clearly and professionally with owners, inspectors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. + Supervise field crews and perform construction duties as needed, following all safety protocols. + Conduct safety meetings and complete job hazard analyses (JHAs) as required. + Maintain a consistent on-site presence during construction activities. + Plan project layout and allocate resources, including labor and equipment, to meet project milestones. + Lead and support crews consisting of carpenters, laborers, and specialty trade subcontractors. + Demonstrate working knowledge of related construction trades and the ability to operate basic equipment such as forklifts and loaders. + Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. + Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. + Perform physical tasks that require full range of motion. + Represent UIC Sanatu with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to safety and quality. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** Minimum Qualifications: + Min 10-15 years of Superintendent/General Foreman Experience in Remote Vertical Alaska Construction Projects. + Must have comprehensive working knowledge of Remote Alaska Construction. + Must possess and maintain current driver's license. + Must have a punctual work history. + Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. + First Aid Certification + OSHA-10 Certification Physical and Mental Demands: + Strenuous walking, standing, and climbing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying. + Work performed on uneven surfaces, ladders, and scaffolding. + Requires full-body physical activity including climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, and walking. + Frequent use of hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials. + Must maintain physical endurance and coordination to safely perform construction-related tasks.
