    Irrigation Technician Employment Status: FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Benefit Status: Bella Vista Property Owners Association Department: Golf Maintenance Department #: Reports to: Director of Golf Maintenance or Grounds Maintenance Superintendent Safety Rating: High Starting Pay: Prepared Date: December 2022 POSITION SUMMARY The Irrigation Technician performs technical, skilled, semi-skilled manual and equipment operation work in the maintenance of irrigation systems for all areas of responsibility. May require independent judgment in the disposition of routine matters without direct supervision. Will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Golf Course Maintenance or Grounds Maintenance Superintendent. REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Provides support for the department. In addition to other duties as assigned, will work with power and hand tools, vehicular apparatus and all special equipment used in irrigation maintenance. Trains employees in the proper and safe use of all equipment and tools. Plans, installs, and maintains all irrigation systems for the POA. Installs new systems and/or repair existing irrigation piping systems. Maintains and repairs automatic sprinkler. Orders all parts and supplies necessary to maintain all irrigation systems. Operates all equipment required to repair systems, such as ditching equipment, backhoes, etc. Trains employees in the safe operation of tools and equipment used for irrigation maintenance. Maintains necessary maintenance records. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Work requires continual attention to details. Must exhibit excellence in Customer Service with all customers. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Greater than 50 pounds may require a team lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Specific required movements include the following: trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry, arm's reach, and leg-lifts.
