A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
As an operations technician, you spend your day working directly with customer service assistance to residential and commercial collection customers. Other duties include delivering and removing plastic carts, collecting and disposing of various items, maintaining records of services rendered. Your job is essential to the city, and you perform various setting up and removing sanitation containers from field locations for residential and commercial collection. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include operating light equipment and a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
When you are not out in the city, you generally are back at the office providing advice to others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies. Contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to reach agreement. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
High school diploma or equivalent
Educational Substitute: Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One (1) year of experience in related field.
Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in Solid Waste Management or related field.
TDH Vector License/Certification within 1 year of hire
First Aid/CPR Certification within 1 year of of hire
NIMS Certification within 1 year of hire

This is a doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware. Job Details:
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

Purpose of Classification
Performs technical work in support of assigned IT programs or communications function. Essential Functions

Qualifications
High School diploma, G.E.D., or possess at least one current relevant industry certification, such as ACI Field, ACI Concrete Strength, ACI Aggregates, TxDOT SB101, SB102, SB103, SB201, SB202, 1A or 1B or other comparable industry certifications as required.
Possess a valid driver's license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet firm's auto insurability requirements.
If no certifications are currently held, will be required to obtain at least one of the industry certifications as designated by supervisor with support of the firm, within six months of employment. Possess Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges, Technician Training and Certification Program (TTCP) from the Texas State Highway and Transportation Department, or ability to complete within 6 months of employment. We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful Microgrid Mechanical Technician to assume responsibilities for multiple Microgrid generators. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing maintenance on power generation equipment, electrical experience as a plus. The entry-level Microgrid Mechanical Technician will coordinate with Area Managers to ensure generators are maintained, serviced, and operate for customer requirements for on demand electricity. This is a remote field position and will report to the Area Manager.
You'll make an impact by:
· Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L), Generac (21.9 L) and Marathon generator ends, as well as various voltage control and synchronizing equipment under supervision of senior technicians.
· Learn and utilize manufacturer specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.
· Facilitate technical support and liaison with equipment manufacturers.
· Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
· Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.
· Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
· Work in potentially confined areas of high heat and humidity, and cold.
