Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).
Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability.
Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must have (3) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both; or (2) years verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both.
Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
Must furnish own personal hand tools.
CDL A and DOT certified preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.
Excellent communication skills; able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
Computer and software experience.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Must be able to work overtime when needed.
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $25 and $30/hour.

In this role, you will splice & test fiber optic cables in aerial, underground, and indoor physical field environments. The position will need to have attention to detail regarding setting up splice locations, termination points, splice quality, work environment safety and general fiber optic construction. This position will be subject to workdays, nights, weekends, and holiday work will also be required. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Splicing on new construction and restoration projects for a variety of cable types (loose tube, ribbon, micro, OPGW, etc). Active splicing activity in cables with both dark fiber and lit services.
Conduct and validate testing of all network equipment to ensure adherence to all requirements and equipment manufacturer's specifications.
Work with the Network Operations Center for final acceptance and testing of all newly installed equipment and rings. Tests include validation of all provisioning, all alarm monitoring to the NMS (Network Management System), and network switch protection.
Work with fiber optic related test equipment including OTDR, OLTS, power meters, visual fault locator, etc.
Perform site survey of remote locations to ensure quality installation of all racks, fiber cable, etc. Report any and all defects to the fiber manager and /or OSP Field Engineers.
Label and tag all equipment and cabling according to Network Engineering Diagrams.
Perform advanced analysis and troubleshooting of problems / issues while assisting customer.
Participate in on-call rotation schedule for nights and weekends.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
Perform both hardware and software updates and/or changes to remote site equipment as necessary.
Complete and maintain hard copy and/or electronic records of work completed on various assignments including, but not limited to, splice diagrams, patch panels, and test results.
Interface with customers and carriers in support of service delivery and assurance.
Work independently for extended periods of time.
Respond to customer troubles on 24-hour basis.
Work closely with the Inspectors, Engineering, and customers.

Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Valid Driver's license required.
One (1)+ years of experience in the splicing, testing, installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks and/or Outside Plant fiber experience. Or a minimum of two (2) years of field experience.
Prior work experience with base station equipment, NMS, equipment installation and maintenance, and experience in both the construction, installation and maintenance phases preferred.
Prior use of Volt/Ohm meter, RF power meter, frequency sweep equipment, spectrum analyzer, fault locating equipment and battery conductance meters preferred.
Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) preferred.
Working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA standards preferred.
Experience splicing ribbon and loose tube cables.

Job Description
The Railcar Repair Technician conducts all aspects of repair and maintenance on tank cars. This person must demonstrate good leadership and team skills while being a safety-conscious person.
* Railcar Repair - always uses current repair procedures. Conducts railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance and performs repairs as necessary.
* Customer Support - Meets the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure their satisfaction of work.
* Clerical - ensures that all necessary invoicing, inspection, work order information is complete.
* Maintains all certifications, complete and maintain required certifications, demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations.
* Performing welding repairs
* Other work-related tasks as assigned.
General Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Must have mechanical aptitude, ability to problem-solve and to make decisions. Ability to use hand tools (such as pipe wrenches, pry bars, wrenches, ratchets, and other equipment to chip and grind weld slag or spatter).
* Welding experience is a huge plus for this site
* Must handle and successfully complete basic railcar repairs and inspections.
* Consistently demonstrate skill in customer relations, using good interpersonal skills and be able to work as a part of a team.
* Demonstrates an ability to work safely and follow proper procedures
* Must work in all types of weather conditions.
* Valid Driver's License

* Must be able to stoop for extended periods and routinely move from kneeling to standing positions

Primary Purpose
The Facilities and Grounds Technician is responsible for the planning, coordination, and day-to-day operation of RVU's ranch facilities. This work includes custodial and grounds maintenance, system monitoring, and ensuring safe usage of ranch spaces. This role involves working closely with livestock areas and requires regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions. This position supports and provides backup to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds, Senior Facilities and Grounds Technicians, Shipping and Receiving Department, and the Security Department. This position reports directly to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds.
Essential Job Functions
Assist in or coordinate the overall planning and decision-making for maintaining the safety, utility and appearance of the RVU Montana Campus ranch.
Keep records of inspections and maintenance records of all safety systems within RVU Montana.
Assist in developing and maintaining a schedule for regular facility evaluations and preventative maintenance.
Assist in supervising the work of outside contractors and vendors, specifically landscaping, plumbing, lighting, door closures, and security related issues, including inspection and completion.
Monitor and maintain the lighting schedule, and provide support in managing the HVAC system.
Submit requests to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds for maintenance projects.
Assist the Manager of Facilities and Grounds and all technicians in developing and maintaining a plan for 24-7 coverage relating to building usage, custodial, grounds, maintenance, safety, and emergencies.
Support campus events and coordinate facility usage as needed, including set up, clean up, and tear down.
Oversee and perform snow removal using snow removal equipment.
Operate and maintain ranch equipment such as tractors, mowers, and utility vehicles.
Monitor and maintain ranch grounds including pastures, arenas, fencing, and irrigation.
Perform routine inspections and repairs on ranch buildings, barns, and livestock facilities.
Perform maintenance on other Montana campus facilities as needed and directed.
Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, plans, and schematics.
Perform duties on a rotating on-call status.
Perform other duties as assigned.
