VTG is seeking aTelecommunications Technician 3 supporting Navy in efforts that will include ISP/OSP cabling and premise cabling repair or replacement of existing ISP/OSP cabling where the existing infrastructure does not meet the minimum requirements of the standards, codes and instructions at the Navy Base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. What will you do? * Site Surveys. Provide data from ISP/OSP surveys that assist in establishing requirements for corrective maintenance of the information technology infrastructure based on current EIA/TIA standards. Assist engineering department in developing and designing local projects to include Master Plan budgetary matrix. * Conduct surveys and provide all required data that assists in establishing requirements for correctional maintenance of the base infrastructure. Provide data to include locations of new outlets along with redlined Installation Design Plans (IDP's) for complete premise cabling repairs in all facilities requested by the customer. * Technical Services and Engineering. Attend meetings and site surveys as directed. What You Will Do Perform maintenance, repair, installation, fabrication and construction duties on various pieces of equipment within company facilities. Education and Experience Seeking candidates 18 years of age or older with a valid HVAC certification and dynamic training, education and minimum of 2 years experience within HVAC and Refrigeration fields. Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), effective communicative skills and ability to read and understand instructions, policies and procedures. No relocation assistance is being offered. ** The Experienced Telecom Fiber Optic Splicer will perform overhead and underground low-voltage line splicing and maintenance (fiber optic & copper cabling). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, splicing, driving trucks, operating test equipment, loading and unloading material, climbing poles, working from aerial personnel lift devices. Some of the basic functions of this position evolve into the below: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and installation guides. Experienced with splicing Fiber Optic Cable, up to and including 3,456 fiber count by means of fusion splicing with heat shrink protection. Be able to perform mass (ribbon) or single (loose tube) splicing utilizing fusing splicing. Be experienced in the operation of core alignment machines in the case where single strand fusion splicing is required. Familiar with the installation of fiber sleeve, wipes, cable tags and tie wraps Management of the installation of conduit, risers, cable trays or cable ladders. Ensuring installations comply with applicable codes such as ANSI/TIA/EIA 588-B Commercial Building Telecommunication Cabling Standard, the National Electrical Safety Code and other applicable local and national codes concerned with quality and safety. Keeping company informed on progress of the Splicing portion of the project. Communicating and coordinating with customer and company related to specific safety, local code and company installation requirements. Assisting in proposal development and project preparation activities. Completing site surveys to verify site construction diagrams, determination of site installation materials (specifically splicing materials), verify site installation/construction scope and extent of work fiber optic installations. Report findings to the appropriate staff. Ensure that Splicing and other Fiber test equipment is maintained in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's recommended procedures or customers procedures. Conduct OTDR and/or Power Measurement testing (as per customers procedures) on Fiber Optic Cable reels in the case where it is suspected that the Fiber Optic may have been damaged in transit. Assist with development of project schedules and materials selection. Accurately reports status, material usage, and expenses. Update customer prints, documentation, and facilitates document storage. Assisting in warehouse maintenance and inventory. Responsible for general organization of truck and cleanliness of truck both in and out. Stock truck with stock for the day's job assignment Conscientious regarding the safety of him/herself at times as well as the safety of every other crew member or individual on the job site Responds with sound judgment to unusual and hazardous circumstances. Assists with recordkeeping and maintains a log of work assigned/performed (hours broken down into specific categories). Represents TDX Corporation and BSEt, LLC in a manner conducive to good public relations. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: MUST HAVE a minimum of 2 years of Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing experience on mass and single fiber optic cable. Must have experience in performing fusion splicing, fiber terminations, fiber dressing, fiber cleaning and OTDR Testing. High level understanding of Fiber Optic Cable installation procedures such as Overhead Cable installation or Underground by means of conduits/ducting. Knowledge of the terminology used in the Telecommunications and Fiber Optic Cable installation industry. Demonstrated ability to use basic hand and power tools needed for installation projects. Experienced in creating splice reports that detailed the splice(s) to be performed as well as the configuration of the existing splice. Comfortable working at heights of up to 50-ft in a bucket truck. Exposed to numerous types of pollen, depending upon location, season or climatic conditions. May also be exposed to bee/wasp stings, or animal bites. As a Facilities Technician, you'll be responsible to oversee maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and security systems/components on property. Meet target volumes of quality biodiesel production while maintaining the facility and effectively communicating status and support needs to the management team. Our ideal applicant possesses a high school diploma or equivalent, mechanical ability to repair and maintain and/or rebuild equipment, general understanding of processing equipment (valves, pipes, pumps, boiler, etc.), technical electrical and mechanical skills capable of assessing PLC controls, proficiency with controlling automated processes with an HMI system, proficiency with basic computing software (Microsoft Office), demonstrated clear verbal and written communication, proficiency with time management and organizational skills.
