John W. Kemper is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. In this role, he directs the Bank's strategy and line operations, working closely with market and business line leadership. In addition, Mr. Kemper has overall responsibility for bank credit and non-credit risk, legal, compliance and human resources. Kemper holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Stanford University, a Master of Science in economic history from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Kemper is a director of Tower Properties Company and a member of the Leadership Council of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. Richard Hancock Moore (born Oxford, Granville County, North Carolina, August 30, 1960) was the North Carolina State Treasurer from 2001–2009. He was first elected to that post in 2000 and re-elected in 2004.

He has served as Chairman and CEO of the Bank since 1993. He previously served as President and CEO of the East Weymouth Savings Bank from 1981 to 1988. Mr. Gaughen has substantial experience in both commercial and residential real estate lending. He has served as a Director of the Savings Bank Association of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Bankers Association, and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He holds a BA from Georgetown University and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.

Damian Kozlowski serves as Chief Executive Officer of The Bancorp, Inc., President of The Bancorp Bank, and a Director of the company and the bank. Damian brings to The Bancorp more than 25 years of experience as a highly regarded financial services leader. Damian joined The Bancorp after having served, since 2010, as Chief Executive Officer, President, and Director of Modern Bank, N.A. Previously, Damian served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Capital Financial Group, Inc. (2007-2010). From 2000 to 2007, Damian was responsible for developing The Citigroup Private Bank’s global growth strategy to significantly build position in the high net worth wealth management market. At Citigroup Private Bank, Damian managed 4500 employees in 98 offices in 31 countries; he served as Chief Executive Officer, Global Private Bank (2005-2007); President, US Private Bank (2002-2005); Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer (2001-2002); and Global Head of Business Development and Strategy (2000-2001). Damian served as a member of Citigroup’s Operating and Management Committees, and was the ranking business leader on the Global Anti-Money Laundering Council. His prior experience includes positions held at Banc of America Securities, Marakon Associates, Rostra Holdings and US Trust, which have equipped him with deep expertise in private equity, wealth management, and investment banking.

Buddy D. Philpot is the foundation’s executive director overseeing all foundation operations, grant making, research and evaluation, and communications. Prior to joining the foundation, Buddy spent more than 20 years in community banking, joining the Walton family owned Arvest Bank Group in 1987. He served for more than 10 years as president and CEO of the Springdale, Arkansas, Arvest bank.He joined The Walton Family Foundation as executive director in 2001. Buddy holds banking degrees from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
