Furnishes sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. Distributes and stores sterile supplies. * Prepares case carts. * Delivers equipment and supplies as scheduled or requested. * Identifies and communicates need for additional inventory. * Assembles case carts completely using the preference cards/resource maps as a guide. 5. Sterilization of equipment * Loads and unloads sterilization cart and stores items in proper location. * Uses proper technique for processing and transporting sterile items. * Correctly identifies and sorts instrumentation for appropriate method of sterilization. * Operates and monitors steam sterilizers and other designated pieces of equipment. * Labels, loads, records and sterilizes items according to procedure as documented by sterilization logs. * Distributes and stores all processed trays, instruments and equipment in designated areas. * Performs, incubates, interprets and records biological test results according to procedure as documented by the biological documentation log. * Implements recall procedure when a positive biological test is discovered according to policy. 6. As a Supervisor Courier Services, you will plan, organize, and supervise the daily operations of courier services for the hospital, clinics, and other ancillary areas for the transport of laboratory specimens, mail, pharmaceuticals, and other supplies. + Oversees the daily operations of couriers to provide all hospital specimen and supply transport services. + Responsible for 20 FTE to provide coordinated services within the state of Iowa, making over 200 stops per day. + Keeps abreast of DOT standards for specimen and chemical transport. + Ensures all deliveries are accounted for to ensure sensitive specimens/supplies are promptly delivered to appropriate location(s). + Schedules staff to ensure appropriate coverage. Greets patients, orders lab work, and collects and processes specimens for analysis by the clinical laboratory staff. Employment Type:Part time Shift:Description: Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a RN and or LPN in the ER setting. Performs general nursing assistant duties and able to work with the age specific populations according to the age and setting. Registers patients in the Emergency Department and Registration area, enters charges and completes hospital-required paperwork. Assists in Medical-Surgical and SDS/Operating Room area as needed and training completed. What you will do: Provides competent patient care to the above-indicated patient populations by obtaining and utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills in appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments within the ER Tech scope of practice. Registers patient that present to the ER for services and all admission to the hospital following registration policies and procedures. This includes collecting Time of Service Payment, when possible. Effectively communicates pertinent patient changes/conditions to co-workers and to multidisciplinary caregivers. Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in the provision of patient care to achieve desired patient care outcomes Enters charges according to billing policies and procedures (EKG, CRNA charges, etc) Enters Bed Board data Documents patient information in the electronic/paper medical record in an accurate, timely manner.
