Job Summary
Performs various security related duties to ensure the safety of La Vaquita's vendors, shoppers and staff. Responds to all incidents of disruptive/assaultive individuals, investigates reports of suspicious activity and performs customer service functions as described by policy/procedures. SecurityOfficers will perform facility and grounds patrols and inspections. SecurityOfficers will report their daily activities in a log and/or incident reports; and conduct other duties assigned by the Security Supervisor or the Director of Operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security, ideally fluent in Spanish, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a secure environment and customer service.
Minimum Requirements:
Be at least a minimum of 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 1+ years of verifiable experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Security Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the flea market premises to deter crime, identify potential hazards, and ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
Access Control: Monitor entry and exit points, controlling access to restricted areas, verifying identification as needed, and conduct opening and closing operations.
Incident Response: Respond promptly to incidents, such as disturbances, thefts, or medical emergencies, and take appropriate action.
Surveillance: Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to identify and address potential threats.
Customer Service: Assist customers with inquiries, provide directions, and resolve minor issues.
Report Writing: Document security incidents, observations, and unusual activity in clear and concise reports.
Compliance: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as local and state laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
State of Georgia Certified Armed SecurityOfficer, Blue Card Holder, or Basic SecurityOfficer Certification.
Fluency in Spanish Preferred: Proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish is essential for effective communication with staff and customers.
Experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
Strong physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods.
Valid driver's license required.

10. Escort all catering carts from the time the monitoring/inspection is completed until the carts are loaded onto the transport vehicle.
11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals.
12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it.
13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft.
14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access.
15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary.
16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer.
17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O.
18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately.
19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.
21. Attend meetings and in-services as required.
22. Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required.
23. Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials.
24. Identification badges must always be visible.
25. Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.

Maintains Devices and Documentation: Records entries in electronic and/or hand written log books. Is accountable for keys, restraining devices and other emergency equipment for their assigned post.
Emergencies and Security Violations: Serves as a communication liaison in the event of an emergency within detention facilities/housing units. As needed assists deputies, correctional officers and other persons by providing information during emergencies. Alerts sworn personnel of any security violations and/or potentially threatening situations.
Operate control panels for electronic doors, security devices, and alarms in order to control ingress and egress within detention facilities/housing units.
Operate data terminals and computerized equipment.
Rapidly and accurately enter, modify and retrieve information in criminal justice information systems.
Alert appropriate personnel of security violations and potentially threatening situations.
React promptly and correctly in emergency situations.
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Must have a high school or GED; must be 18 years of age or older.
