The University of Southern California's Pullias Center for Higher Education is seeking a Contracts and Grants Coordinator to support all phases of grant administration, from pre-award preparations to post-award processes.
The Contracts and Grants Coordinator will collaborate with faculty, staff, and graduate students within the Center and interact with various staff and administrators within the Rossier School of Education, the Department of Contracts and Grants, Sponsored Projects Accounting, Procurement and other university support areas. Applicants should have experience in grants management, project management, university budgeting and expense processes.
Ideal candidates will:
Serve as a subject matter resource for non-profit and university proposal submissions (expertise with federal grants desired), offering guidance on various proposal types, knowledge of submission systems, common challenges, and effective navigation processes for successful proposal submissions.
Provide comprehensive post-award administrative support, processing expenditures, establishing contracts, compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
Reconcile and generate financial reports. Provide faculty with account summaries and projection reports on regular and as-needed basis. Prepare financial and/or progress reports requested by agencies for award continuation and/or final reports.
Demonstrate ability to quickly integrate into a dynamic workload, assume key responsibilities, and build strong, collaborative relationships across varied personnel, departments and units.
Have experience interacting with various university personnel including faculty, administrators, staff and students.
Have multi-tasking experience, with ability to adapt and adjust priorities as required for successful completion of tasks.
Have meticulous detailed record-keeping capabilities tracking multiple projects with varying needs, distinctive budgets, over assorted timeframes.
Stay well-informed with center funding needs and university policies.
Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with school representatives, central unit representatives, faculty, and staff.
Other duties as assigned.
The mission of the Pullias Center for Higher Education is to bring a multidisciplinary perspective to complex social, political, and economic issues in higher education. Our work is devoted to the key issues of college access and admissions/enrollment, retention, and accountability for underserved students, and the effectiveness of the colleges and universities - and their faculty - that serve them. In addition, our College Advising Corps delivers direct college advising services to more than 10,000 high school students in Los Angeles each year. Both directly and through our research, policy development and practice, we engage with institutional leaders, policymakers and the community at large to address major challenges in educational equity today.
The position will begin in April 2025. It is a temporary, fixed-term, position renewable based on grant funding. Hybrid arrangements for this full-time (37.5hr/week) position will be considered.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; combined experience/education may be a substitute for minimum education.
Minimum of two years of contracts and grants administration experience or specialized administrative support experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of contracts and grants administration experience or specialized administrative support experience
Experience working with contracts and grants awards
Experience with financial/budget forecasting and reporting
Experience working with Workday financials
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Anticipated Hiring Range:
This position's annual base salary range is $78,000 - $83,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Position Summary
The Housing Marketing & Communications Coordinatordevelops and implements comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that promote University Housing programs, services, and events. Coordinate and support OUSD College and Career Pathway Coaches in the development and implementation of pathway coaching plans that are aligned to each of the essential elements of high quality college and career pathways.
Collaborate with CTE and College and Career Pathways Manager to connect high school and post-secondary educators in the development and creation of dual enrollment and articulation agreements.
Coordinate and support the collection, analysis and monthly dissemination of District and pathway level student achievement data to ensure a cycle of continuous improvement focused on student outcomes-driven practices.
Coordinate and promote the Linked Learning Essential Elements of College and Career Pathways, including documentation that demonstrates a cycle of continuous improvement for the purpose of achieving “Certified” status in the Linked Learning Pathway Quality Review.
Support, mentor and assist College and Career Pathway Coaches in their work with pathway teams of teachers to develop the essential elements of a high quality college and career pathways including student outcomes-driven practice, equity and access, program of study, learning and teaching, work based learning, personalized student support and pathway leadership.
Collaborate with the OUSD Workforce DevelopmentCoordinator and support College and Career Pathway Coaches to increase the numbers of community partners to build greater integrity in the pathway program of study and build capacity for industry involvement and create.
Coordinate and facilitate pathway teams use of ConnectEd Studios for the collection of evidence and pathway level data
Collaborate with CTE and College and Career Pathways Manager in the development of UC “a-g” approved courses and curriculum, including planning and coordinating UC Curriculum Integration Institutes (UCCI).
Develop and lead the process for the establishment of emerging pathways and/or the elimination of pathways that do not meet labor market projections or adhere to the Linked Learning model of college and career pathways.
Collaborate with District staff to align pathway teacher support.
Recruit, hire, develop, support, supervise and evaluate staff.
Plan, lead and attend department meetings; represent Linked Learning College and Career Pathways and LCI at District/community meetings.
Provide cross-training to other staff managers with the department.
Travel to school sites as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 5 years of College and Career Pathways or Small Learning Community teaching experience in any subject.

ROLE SUMMARY
The English Language Development (ELD) Coordinator is an integral part of the school's instructional leadership team and leads the ELD strategy at their school site. With specialized expertise in the instruction of ELD, the coordinator ensures all Multilingual Learner (ML) scholars are supported academically and socially-emotionally through data monitoring, ELPAC/SBA coordination, reclassification progress, and compliance with state/federal EL/ELPI requirements. They are responsible for ensuring ML scholars meet their learning outcomes. The Coordinator creates and implements the site's ELD program, coaches classroom teachers on effective strategies, plans staff PD on designated/integrated ELD and culturally responsive practices, and leads family engagement through workshops and literacy nights. In addition to these leadership duties, the Coordinator may also provide direct ELD instruction in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement a school-specific Multilingual Learner (ML) Program strategy, aligned with the network's ML Network Plan, to enhance instruction and achievement for ML scholars.
Evaluate the site's Multilingual Learner program through instructional walkthroughs, classroom observations, and ongoing scholar data analysis to ensure ELD program effectiveness.
Support ELD and content teachers through modeling, co-teaching, push-in support, and data-driven feedback to improve ML instruction; teach a small number of designated ELD classes as needed.
Observe ELD teachers and provide feedback, coaching, and support on unit/lesson planning, execution, differentiation, and data analysis.
Plan and lead professional development for staff on integrating California ELD Standards with state-adopted content standards (Integrated ELD).
Maintain accurate ML documentation (e.g., ELPAC results, reclassification files, parent notifications) in compliance with district/state requirements.
Lead annual reclassification cycles for ML students in collaboration with operations staff and counselors; progress monitor current MLs and recently reclassified students (RFEP).
Coordinate initial and summative ELPAC administration, analyze results, and use data for ML identification, placement, and reclassification.
Ensure ML accommodations are provided for state assessments (SBAC), college entrance exams (SAT/ACT), and classroom tests per IEP/504 plans.
Recruit, form, and facilitate the ML Parent Advisory Committee (ELPC) to amplify family voice in school decisions.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
California Single Subject, Multiple Subject, or Education Specialist Credential (Clear or Preliminary) with an English Learner Authorization code of “ELAS,” “ELAM,” “ELAE,” “ELA1” or “CLAD Emphasis” or Bilingual Authorization code of “BA**” or “BCLAD” Emphasis. Program
SBCS' Youth Development Academy (YDA) is a partnership with San Diego County Probation Department to provide evidence informed, pro-social, and developmentally appropriate programming to youth in custody at East Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility. This program serves youth ages 14- to 24-years old who have been committed to long-term sentences for serious felony offenses. The Youth Development Academy uses a trauma-informed, positive youth development model to support the youth and families we serve while in custody, and as they transition back to the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Program Coordinator, the Youth & Family Development Associate (YFDA) will work closely with the Coordinator to provide assessment driven, strength-based treatment plans to guide their treatment while in custody and upon release from custody. The YFDA will be responsible for collaborating with the other members of the youth team, including Probation Officer, Behavior Health Clinician, and service providers to inform his/her/their treatment. The YFDA will also be responsible for engaging the youth's family and/or supports both in the facility and the community through home visits. Provide case management services to youth sentenced to YDA for committing a serious felony offense.
Complete comprehensive assessments, as determined appropriate.
Develop strength-based, individualized service plans for each youth residing in YDA.
Provide quality trauma-informed and Positive Youth Development principles to participants. Nurture a therapeutic environment through interactions with the youth and partners in the facility.
Collaborate with multiple professionals (e.g., job navigator, reentry specialist, Probation Officer) to develop and implement service plan.
Provide ongoing support and supervision of youth participating in programs.
Conduct weekly one-on-one coaching and service planning meetings with youth while in custody.
Identify services, resources, job, and school supports for youth upon release and help facilitate enrollment.
Provide access to reentry case manager for youth and family for six-months post-release.
Maintain case records and client files in the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database as required by SBCS and Probation.
Provide safe, secure transportation to clients upon their release.
Provide crisis intervention to clients as needed.
Facilitate evidence-based groups as needed and appropriate.
Completion of reports, and communication with colleagues regarding shift updates and other required documents in a timely manner.
Provide job placement assistance to eligible youth.
Upon release, provide advocacy and referrals to community resources based on clients' needs.
Develop and maintain outreach and linkages to appropriate services in the community.
Attend all agency required meetings and training.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social science, psychology, criminal justice, or related field OR a minimum of 4 years related experience providing direct service to justice involved youth (14 to 24 years of age)
Life experience and/or relevant case management experience focused on at-risk young adults (14 to 24 years of age) highly desirable.
Ability to work in a very diverse setting with people of all backgrounds, culture and orientation.
Work within an institutional setting to create a therapeutic environment.
Conduct home visits with youth and/or family to support transition back to community.
Knowledge of trauma informed care, Positive Youth Development, and/or restorative practices is desired.

SBCS' Community Assessment Team (CAT) & Juvenile Diversion (JD) program works to keep kids in school and out of the Juvenile Justice System by providing early intervention/prevention to youth and families. Embedded in the Youth Prevention & Intervention (YPI) Team, the program provides an array of support services for first-time youth offenders, runaways, youth on Probation, and non-offenders and their families.
Position Summary:
The Community Assessment Team (CAT) & Juvenile Diversion (JD) Youth and Family Development Associate (YFDA) under the supervision of the Program Coordinator & Program Director is responsible for providing intervention services to school age youth (ages 6-18), who may be at risk of entering the justice system. Services will be in keeping with agency goals, objectives, mission, and style and provided within a team framework. The CAT & JD YFDA works one on one with youth building a relationship of trust, empowering the youth, addressing their needs, developing skills and realistic goals, and providing positive opportunities to avoid justice system processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide various direct one on one services when working with at-risk youth including Individualized trauma-informed case management and working with youth and their families to connect them with needed resources. Some of the resources they may be connected to include individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, support, and other services.
Complete comprehensive family-based assessments for identified youth and develop strength-based service plans including goals and objectives.
Coordinate with police, probation, and other agencies for continual service of clients, including presentations to other service agencies.
Facilitate group sessions and/or presentations on topics such as youth leadership, anger management, parenting skills, independent living skills, and gang involvement prevention, if needed.
Meet assigned scope of service and maintenance of case files and assist in writing of quarterly and annual reports including accurate and timely submissions of required reports.

Program:
SBCS's Achievement Center provides a spectrum of center-based support services to help youth on probation remain in compliance with court orders, avoid re-offending, and to reach their full potential. The program also provides youth with opportunities for pro-social activities, games and free time, educational groups, restorative circles, music engineering & production, and career & job readiness & education. Youth on formal probation are referred by their Probation Officer to attend the Achievement Center (AC) from 20 to 45 program days. This allows them an opportunity to remain in the community while being involved in a continuum of pro-social support and programs. Community youth, not on Probation, can also be referred to attend the Achievement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Youth and Family Development Associate under the supervision of the Program Coordinator and Program Director is responsible for providing services to SBCS' youth on probation and the Community who may be at-risk for future or continued involvement in the juvenile justice system.
