John Timberlake joined Valeritas in September 2006 as General Manager for the Metabolism Business. In August 2008 he was appointed President and Chief Commercial Officer. John has over 20 years of combined pharmaceutical and medical device industry experience. During the last 13 years, he has focused his efforts in metabolism with an emphasis in diabetes. Before joining Valeritas, John was the Vice President of Diabetes Marketing at sanofi-aventis. In this role, John was responsible for the success of the diabetes franchise, which included brands such as Lantus®, Apidra® and Amaryl®. He also had extensive experience and commercial responsibilities for new products in development across multiple therapeutic areas including inhaled insulin and a wide range of other metabolic products and disease areas. Prior to working in the healthcare industry, John was a manager with Deloitte & Touche and was both a Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Public Account. He earned a B.S. in Accounting at NWMSU, an M.S. in Management from Purdue University, and an M.B.A. from E.S.C. Rouen in France.
