Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)**
This role collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to infusion patients. The Infusion RN is responsible for patient education, comprehensive nursing assessments, safe medication administration, and ongoing monitoring for patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other intravenous therapies.
**Schedule and Pay**
+ **Shift Hours:** 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)
+ **Work Schedule:** 4 shifts per week with **1 rotating Flex Day off**
+ **3-** month contract- possible extension
+ **Pay-$** 49-$55
**Top Responsibilities (Daily Duties & Expectations)**
+ Perform comprehensive nursing assessments prior to each infusion, including review of labs, treatment orders, patient vitals, and medical history
+ Provide patient education regarding prescribed infusion therapies, potential side effects, pre- and post-treatment care, and symptom management
+ Safely prepare and administer IV therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, and supportive medications in compliance with physician orders and established protocols
+ Monitor patients closely during infusion treatments for adverse reactions, hypersensitivity responses, or changes in condition and intervene promptly as needed
+ Access and manage vascular devices including peripheral IVs, implanted ports, and PICC lines, ensuring proper maintenance, flushing, and infection prevention
+ Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, advanced practice providers, and clinical support staff to coordinate patient care and treatment plans
+ Accurately document assessments, treatments, patient education, and responses to therapy in the electronic medical record
+ Participate in care planning discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards
+ Support a compassionate and calming environment for patients undergoing complex and often emotionally challenging treatments
+ Maintain compliance with all institutional policies, state regulations, and professional nursing standards
**Required Qualifications & Experience**
+ Minimum **5 years of clinical Registered Nurse (RN) experience**
+ At least **2 years of infusion, oncology, or related acute care experience** (e.g., ICU or Emergency Department)
+ Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in complex patient care settings
**Preferred Skills & Attributes (Nice to Have)**
+ Prior **chemotherapy administration experience** and/or **Chemotherapy Certification**
+ Experience accessing and managing **implanted ports and PICC lines**
+ Strong communication, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
