REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate or equivalent degree in Organizational Behavior, Human Resources Management, or a closely related field from an AACSB or equivalent institution. The Ph.D. must be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2026.
Demonstrated record of high-quality research published in peer-reviewed journals or clear evidence of the potential to establish such a record.
Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have an interest in and ability to teach organizational behavior, a core course in the business curriculum. Interest in additional specialized courses such as change management, performance management, training & development, or people analytics is a plus. Doctorate degree focused on forest operations, forest engineering, and/or fuels reduction operations by start date with a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered but must provide proof that the doctorate was awarded prior to the start of appointment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, effective communication and interpersonal skills. The NRES Department offers B.S. degrees in Environmental Earth and Soil Sciences, Environmental Management and Protection, and Forestry and Natural Resources, and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Management. The programs enroll approximately 850 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students and are supported by 22 tenured or tenure track faculty. The department has access to a variety of on campus and off campus field and lab resources to support hands on instruction and research, including multiple ranches and agricultural fields on campus as well as Cal Poly's 3,000-acre Swanton Pacific Ranch in Santa Cruz county. Mariners must be able to live and work in confined spaces on a moving vessel; maintain balance on a rolling deck; rapidly don an exposure suit; step over 24-inch door sills; open and close watertight doors (up to 56 pounds); pull heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) for distances up to 400 feet; climb steep stairs or vertical ladders without assistance; and participate in firefighting and lifesaving efforts, including wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and handling fully charged fire hoses. Extended workdays are common.

Position Summary
Conducts training through classroom instruction and laboratory activities via the systematic approach to training. Responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs in the following area; Chemistry and Radiological Protection (C&RP).
To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $116,000
California Maximum: $184,000

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
USCG MMC as Third Mate, Unlimited, with all currently required STCW endorsements or Master of Towing.
Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation or a closely related field.
Minimum of five years of seagoing experience on commercial vessels or comparable shoreside experience in the maritime industry.

Work aboard ship requires climbing ladders and gangways; lifting and carrying materials between the pier and vessel; and occasional work in hot, cold, damp, or very dry conditions.
Mariners must be able to live and work in confined spaces on a moving vessel; maintain balance on a rolling deck; rapidly don an exposure suit; step over 24-inch door sills; open and close watertight doors (up to 56 pounds); pull heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) for distances up to 400 feet; climb steep stairs or vertical ladders without assistance; and participate in firefighting and lifesaving efforts, including wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and handling fully charged fire hoses. Extended workdays are common.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
USCG MMC as Third Mate, Unlimited, with all currently required STCW endorsements or Master of Towing.
Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation or a closely related field.

Mariners must be able to live and work in confined spaces on a moving vessel; maintain balance on a rolling deck; rapidly don an exposure suit; step over 24-inch door sills; open and close watertight doors (up to 56 pounds); pull heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) for distances up to 400 feet; climb steep stairs or vertical ladders without assistance; and participate in firefighting and lifesaving efforts, including wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and handling fully charged fire hoses. Extended workdays are common.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Food Science and Nutrition Department's strategic vision is to prepare the food science, nutrition and dietetics professionals of tomorrow via experiential learning and leadership experience. Graduates will have the critical thinking, foundational knowledge, and technical skills to solve the challenges related to the health of the community and sustainable and safe food systems. The department has 12 full-time faculty, 3 full-time lecturers, many part-time faculty, support staff, and approximately 600 students in two majors. The curriculum is diverse with key classes in data analytics, agricultural economics, accounting, and sales, and more advanced classes in marketing, agricultural policy, finance, risk management, supply chain management, human resource management, the value-added food sector, the retail sector, and global agricultural trade. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Candidates must have a strong interest in and commitment to teaching and working with students of diverse cultural backgrounds. Their primary teaching contribution will be in Nutrition, with responsibilities for teaching courses within the Nutrition majors. They will also work collaboratively to develop and teach new undergraduate and graduate-level courses in global nutrition. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, and effective communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, candidates should be able to provide opportunities for Learn By Doing experiences and undergraduate research related to global nutrition and health. The incumbent will be expected to actively contribute to the Master of Science in Nutrition program through supervising graduate students, participating in team-teaching assignments, and instructing graduate-level courses offered in both in-person and online modalities. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Food Science and Nutrition Department's strategic vision is to prepare the food science, nutrition and dietetics professionals of tomorrow via experiential learning and leadership experience. Graduates will have the critical thinking, foundational knowledge, and technical skills to solve the challenges related to the health of the community and sustainable and safe food systems. The department has 12 full-time faculty, 3 full-time lecturers, many part-time faculty, support staff, and approximately 600 students in two majors. The department hosts a dynamic and innovative Nutrition program that encourages national as well as international perspectives on teaching and research. The Nutrition curriculum includes two concentration options: (1) Dietetics and (2) Nutrition and Pre-Health Sciences. The Dietetics concentration is accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The department also offers multiple nutrition graduate degree options including a traditional MS in Nutrition, a combined MS in Nutrition and Dietetic Internship, and a blended BS/MS in Nutrition.
