REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Agricultural Economics, Resource Economics, Economics, Business Administration, Management, or a closely related field. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered but must provide proof that the doctorate was awarded prior to the start of the appointment.
Candidates must demonstrate, or show potential for, excellence in teaching, effective communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to be a team player. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
Candidates must also demonstrate, or show potential for, an ability to secure external funding and publish research. The ability to interact well with peers, students, industry partners, and the general public is essential. Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as demonstrated ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings are required. Strong interests in undergraduate and graduate teaching are required. Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable, and supportive learning environments is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates with applied and innovative research backgrounds, and with research into areas with clear application to California Agriculture. Industry experience, university level teaching experience, a record of successful academic research, and the demonstrated ability to generate external funding will all be given preference.

The Agricultural Business Department (AGB) of the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences is comprised of roughly 600 undergraduate majors, over 140 minors, and 12 tenured/tenure track faculty. The program offers a B.S. in Agribusiness. The curriculum is diverse with key classes in data analytics, agricultural economics, accounting, and sales, and more advanced classes in marketing, agricultural policy, finance, risk management, supply chain management, human resource management, the value-added food sector, the retail sector, and global agricultural trade. Experiential learning and industry interaction are integral components of the curriculum. The department has earned numerous national student contest awards in competitions sponsored by the National Agricultural Marketing Association, Food Distribution Research Society, the National Grocers Association, and others. The department's research and education activities are conducted on a wide array of issues that include U.S. and California agricultural policies, new and emerging industries, agribusiness management, resource management, supply-chain and retail management, agricultural marketing, and technology adoption in agriculture.

Mariners must be able to live and work in confined spaces on a moving vessel; maintain balance on a rolling deck; rapidly don an exposure suit; step over 24-inch door sills; open and close watertight doors (up to 56 pounds); pull heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) for distances up to 400 feet; climb steep stairs or vertical ladders without assistance; and participate in firefighting and lifesaving efforts, including wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and handling fully charged fire hoses. Extended workdays are common.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate degree focused on forest operations, forest engineering, and/or fuels reduction operations by start date with a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered but must provide proof that the doctorate was awarded prior to the start of appointment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, effective communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to develop an externally funded, applied research program that involves undergraduate and graduate students, and partnerships with key stakeholders. Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as demonstrated ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings are required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interests in undergraduate and graduate teaching are required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates with a record of excellence in teaching and research (commensurate with time since degree), as well as ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working collaboratively with and/or a desire to work collaboratively with partners including the forest industry, public forest managers, state/national agencies, and professional forestry organizations, such as the California Licensed Foresters Association. Preference will also be given to candidates with a desire to become Registered Professional Foresters. Particular attention will be afforded to candidates who have productive records of teaching, scholarly activity, and student-involved research that would strengthen current department activities. Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The NRES Department offers B.S. degrees in Environmental Earth and Soil Sciences, Environmental Management and Protection, and Forestry and Natural Resources, and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Management. The programs enroll approximately 850 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students and are supported by 22 tenured or tenure track faculty. The department has access to a variety of on campus and off campus field and lab resources to support hands on instruction and research, including multiple ranches and agricultural fields on campus as well as Cal Poly's 3,000-acre Swanton Pacific Ranch in Santa Cruz county. The department also supports strong interdisciplinary collaboration across campus including faculty participation in Cal Poly's Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) fire institute and the new Center for Organic Production and Research, among other programs.
