    The Sonography Program(s) Adjunct Faculty Member is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of the assigned student learning experiences in the classroom, lab, and/or clinical setting. A fully qualified adjunct faculty member could be a course facilitator for a non-clinical course. Qualifications: Education: The Wisconsin Code and accreditation criteria together require that faculty: * Holds a baccalaureate degree with clinical specialization appropriate to their area of teaching responsibility. * Holds a master's degree in any given field with preference in healthcare, management or business area or willing to obtain master's degree upon an agreed period of time. * Faculty teaching in a non-clinical course (e.g. issues and trends, research, management, pharmacology, pathophysiology). Have advanced preparation appropriate to their area of responsibility. * Holds an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification or equivalent and registration in pertinent discipline. * In addition, the College has identified the need for competency in applying principles of learning, in teaching, curriculum development, and in the clinical area of assignment. These competency requirements may be obtained through academic credit, institutes, extension courses, continuing education offerings, and experience. Experience: * Has two years of full-time experience in professional discipline. * Has one year experience as an instructor in an approved Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program. * Must maintain current/active practice. * Must be actively engaged in local, state and/or national professional organizations and activities Knowledge: Knowledge and skill in the application of the principles of teaching and learning. The candidate will teach a range of introductory and upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses within computer science, data science, and cybersecurity, as well as general education programs as needed. The coordination and supervision of student Co-Op and internships is also expected, with the faculty member serving as a liaison between the student and employer. This is a full-time, renewable, tenure-track position with a 24-credit teaching load expectation and nine-month contract. A doctoral degree in computer science or closely related degree is required for the rank of assistant professor and tenure. Summary FVTC adjunct faculty are dynamic partners for both students and the College. An adjunct instructor works with students beyond the classroom to ensure their success, models FVTC core values, and demonstrates commitment to excellence in program/course content and delivery. An adjunct instructor can work effectively in a collaborative environment, is willing to innovate and change to meet evolving program and industry needs and demonstrates competency with use of technology that supports learning and teaching. Generally, an adjunct instructor will be hired to instruct specific open classes based upon the adjunct instructor's qualifications and availability. Essential Functions and Responsibilities The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Learning Facilitation - Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement. Create learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success, such as hybrid, in-person, virtual, and on-line course delivery. Assessment - Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful. Use data to measure quality outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and learning and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence. Classroom Management - Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/engagement evaluation. Team Participation - Support the college by engaging with the division, department, and team members, as well as staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives. Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners. Proactively promote the College and our programs. Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful. Professional Development - Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices and teaching through professional development activities, networking with regional industry leaders, and the integration of new techniques and technology. Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation. Minimum Qualifications Education and/or Experience Requirements: * Instructors need to take a Basic rider Course, complete an Instructor certification course, and pass a written and riding evaluation course to become certified by the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) and WIDOT (Wisconsin Department of Transportation). * Instructors must own and ride a motorcycle frequently and must agree to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Code of Ethics. * Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of relevant curriculum. Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements: * Strong verbal communication skills. * Adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances to meet student needs. * Communicate effectively and professionally with various audiences. * Engage in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction by embracing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods. * Prior to hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Physical Requirements * Mobility: While much of the work may be stationary, mobility may be necessary for attending meetings, facility tours, teaching in lab, or other events. * Lifting and Carrying: The role requires occasional/continuous lifting and carrying of light to moderate items (50 pounds). * Climbing: Capability to climb stairs or ladders and to safely move in and around vehicles in the lab. * Fine Motor Skills: This role may need precise hand movements or manual dexterity for activities such as writing on a whiteboard, demonstrating experiments, or using instructional technology like computers. * Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions, such as typing, without discomfort or injury. * Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, candidates, and stakeholders, both in-person and through electronic means. * Travel: Instructor position may require off-site teaching, fieldwork, or travel for professional development. * Driving/Operational: Qualified to operate a vehicle or equipment, as required in the position. Work Environment * Work is commonly completed in person with elements supported in a virtual or hybrid environment. * Work is typically performed in a classroom and laboratory. * Work is occasionally performed outdoors during both daytime and nighttime hours, and in all conditions. Additional Information Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour. Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.
