NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach a variety of psychology courses. Topics may include the historical development of the discipline, scientific methodology, human development, motivational theory, consciousness, sensation and perception, learning, thinking, memory, emotions, biological basis of behavior, personality theory, psychopathology, therapy, and research methodology.
Psychology is an exciting and changing field that has an impact on your life. Although it is little more than a century old as a formal discipline, the study of psychology has revolutionized how we look at others and ourselves. While psychologists are involved in a broad range of specialties, they share the common goal of attempting to understand behavior. Hopefully, throughout this course you will find that many of the topics covered have relevance in your own life. You may find that you look at some situations differently, that you have some new insights into human behaviors, including your own.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
Attend department meetings.
Maintain daily email communication with students, faculty, staff and department chair of department.
Follow all rules, regulations, and requirements of NHTI and the Social Sciences department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree in Psychology or equivalent
Experience: Prior teaching experience required and familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS) preferred.
Residency: Must reside in NH

COMPENSATION
Placement on the District's Faculty Salary Schedule is dependent upon years of experience and level of education. Entry-level is from $77.44 per hour (Lecture Rate)/$58.08 per hour (Lab/Counselor Rate) to $98.98 per hour (Lecture Rate)/$74.24 per hour (Lab/Counselor Rate) at the time of employment. The current highest salary attainable after employment is $127.21 per hour (Lecture Rate)/$95.41 per hour (Lab/Counselor Rate). Employees also will be members of the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS). Sick leave, and other leaves are available according to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.

Duties of a part-time lecturer include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments, including dates, time, and modality, are made by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.
Part-time lecturers are instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires from the pool of applicants are made when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by an academic department based on changing enrollment patterns, changes to tenure-track faculty assignments, and other factors that cannot be addressed with our existing faculty. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but occasionally academic year initial appointments are made. Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance. Often appointments are made just prior to the start of the semester.
Rank and Salary
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.
Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221 ‐ $13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825 ‐ $14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593 ‐ $15,211
The salary ranges indicated are based on a "full‐time rate" (15 weighted teaching units [WTUs]). A semester's worth of compensation is made up of six (6) payments of the given amount. To calculate your salary for a semester, the base rate would be pro‐rated based on the units worked out of 15 WTUs. If you were a Lecturer A assigned 3 units at the minimum salary, your pay would be structured as follows: $5,507 x 3/15 (3 units out of a possible 15 units total) = $1101.40 x 6 checks = $6,608.40 total for 3 units/semester.

Minimum Requirement for ANTH 1A: Master's degree in Anthropology or related discipline.
All other courses: Doctorate in Anthropology or related discipline or Master's degree with minimally 3 years of full time teaching experience.

Duties of a part-time lecturer include instruction, class preparation, grading, Canvas course management, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments, including dates, time, and modality, are made by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.
Part-time lecturers are instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires from the pool of applicants are made when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by an academic department based on changing enrollment patterns, changes to tenure-track faculty assignments, and other factors that cannot be addressed with our existing faculty. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but occasionally academic year initial appointments are made. Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance. Rank and Salary
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.
Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221 ‐ $13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825 ‐ $14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593 ‐ $15,211
The salary ranges indicated are based on a "full‐time rate" (15 weighted teaching units [WTUs]). A semester's worth of compensation is made up of six (6) payments of the given amount. To calculate your salary for a semester, the base rate would be pro‐rated based on the units worked out of 15 WTUs. If you were a Lecturer A assigned 3 units at the minimum salary, your pay would be structured as follows: $5,507 x 3/15 (3 units out of a possible 15 units total) = $1101.40 x 6 checks = $6,608.40 total for 3 units/semester.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the assigned TrAC Dean, the Professor will teach classes in Early Childhood Education. The successful candidate will provide evidence of knowledge and understanding of the racial, socioeconomic, and academic diversity within community college populations; the candidate also will show knowledge and understanding of how these factors relate to the need for equity-minded and culturally responsive practices in the community college setting.
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/ home economics, family life studies or family and consumer studies.

The salary ranges indicated are based on a "full‐time rate" (15 weighted teaching units [WTUs]). A semester's worth of compensation is made up of six (6) payments of the given amount. Lecturer B: $6,221 ‐ $13,224

The salary ranges indicated are based on a "full‐time rate" (15 weighted teaching units [WTUs]). A semester's worth of compensation is made up of six (6) payments of the given amount. To calculate your salary for a semester, the base rate would be pro‐rated based on the units worked out of 15 WTUs. If you were a Lecturer A assigned 3 units at the minimum salary, your pay would be structured as follows: $5,507 x 3/15 (3 units out of a possible 15 units total) = $1101.40 x 6 checks = $6,608.40 total for 3 units/semester.

A faculty member in the College of Pharmacy (COP) is expected to make contributions in three areas: teaching; research and scholarship; and service. This position will include future opportunities to collaborate in the development, with the Department Chair and administrative team, at a part-time practice site. Research and scholarship can be accomplished through the scholarship of teaching and learning and in their practice site. Collaboration with other faculty is encouraged. Service to the department (e.g., participation in exam production, execution and evaluation), College (e.g., standing committees), University, and professional community (e.g., pharmacy, science disciplines) is expected.
