Department Summary
The Department of Human Physiology is home to undergraduate and graduate students who desire strong training in human physiology and anatomy that will prepare them for careers in medicine, allied health professions, and biomedical research. The department is strongly committed to inclusive and evidence-based teaching practices. The department has strengths in cardiovascular, respiratory and muscle physiology, neuroscience/motor control, cell signaling and metabolism, and biomechanics. Human Physiology has strong partnerships with university athletics, the Bioengineering Department, the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance, and is aligned with a new Provost's initiative on Sport and Wellness.

Position Summary
The Department of Human Physiology at the University of Oregon is seeking an innovative career teaching faculty to join a growing nationally-recognized program that provides flexible curriculum and an engaging learning environment for over 1,000 undergraduate majors who aspire to be professionals in health science fields such as medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, education, and research.
The successful candidate will engage in departmental and university service, work effectively with faculty, staff, and students with diverse backgrounds, participate in student advising, and to be a leader in evidence-based pedagogy for the Department of Human Physiology. Specific teaching needs include undergraduate instruction in upper-level courses in Human Anatomy, Physiology, Motor Control, and Biomechanics. The faculty member will have a teaching load of six courses per academic year which will include a combination of some upper-level courses and lower-level courses such as Research Methods and Medical Terminology or develop physiology-based courses for General Science credits (********************************************
While this is not a tenure track position, it is expected to be an ongoing career position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor, depending on experience.
Minimum Requirements
Assistant Teaching Professor:
• Master's degree in Human Physiology or a related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in the fields related to this position (e.g. teaching college level courses, creating and delivering training programs, mentoring undergraduate or graduate student theses, guest lectures, or other related instructional experience).
To be considered for the rank of Associate Teaching Professor, candidates must meet all the requirements of Assistant rank plus:
• Six years of instructional experience in higher education post-receipt of a master's degree.
• Evidence of high-quality teaching and professional expertise in the field as related to the position.
Professional Competencies
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and potential to contribute positively to our community.
• Demonstrated ability for effective teaching practices and learning strategies at the college and university level.
• Active engagement with developments in teaching pedagogy.
• Understanding, and commitment to, advancing equity, inclusion, and accessibility in undergraduate education.
Preferred Qualifications
• PhD in Human Physiology, or a related field.
• Background in systems physiology, including nerve, muscle, cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic and/or exercise physiology.

The Department of Special Education and Clinical Sciences is one of three academic departments in the College of Education (COE). Position Summary
The University of Oregon's Special Education and Clinical Sciences (SPECS) Department in the College of Education seeks to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill periodic instructional vacancies for temporary teaching assignments. Position Title: Automotive Technology Faculty Employment Requirement Criminal Background Check - C4 Division/Department: Automotive Technology Location Advanced Transportation Technology Center, Lebanon, OR Job Summary:
Teach courses that train students in hands-on automotive repair, diagnostics,
and shop safety- the same skills and standards used in today's professional
service centers. Specific teaching assignments will include your evaluation of
and feedback to the students related to their learning and ability to complete
repairs safely. Classroom instruction and activities will follow current ASE and
industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Automotive and/or Diesel repair or a closely related field,
plus a minimum of four years of full-time experience in Automotive and/or
Diesel repair. Or, 7 years of documented industry experience.
Experience must include diagnostics and repairs in suspension, steering, brakes, drive train,
electrical/electronic systems, and hydraulic systems. Also requires ASE
certification in drive train, automotive engines, suspension and steering,
brakes, and electrical/electronic systems, or the ability to complete
certifications within the first year of employment.
* Must have a valid Oregon driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
High-Voltage vehicle systems knowledge preferred, including Hybrid and

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical Skills and Abilities: Learned physical required to operate equipment and tools. Changes in
performance environment require occasional upgrading of skills. Sustained walking and standing on concrete floor during lab sessions is required. Duties require frequent bending, standing, kneeling, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate equipment.

Position Summary

The Department of Bioengineering is the flagship academic unit within Knight Campus. The Department of Human Physiology at the University of Oregon invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin fall 2025.
The goal of this position is to enhance department expertise related to exercise physiology, human performance, and athletic medicine in areas related to metabolism and nutrition.
