How We Determined The Best Cities For Travelers

We ranked 88 cities on three factors:

  • Number Of Direct Flight Locations
  • Number Of International Destinations
  • Average Ticket Cost

Each city was put into one of three categories: cities with 50 of more direct flight options, cities with 10 or more direct flight options, and cities with less than 10 direct flight options. Our data on direct flights came from Flight Connections. Our data on international flights came from Flight Connection, supplemented by NonstopFrom. The more direct destinations, the better the city for fliers. Number of direct flight locations and international destinations account for 80% of the ranking.

Average ticket cost came from the Bureau Of Transportation Statistics and accounts for the remaining 20%. The lower the ticket cost, the better the city is for frequent fliers. After all, when you buy a lot of plane tickets the costs add up!

We used the biggest city airport to determine the above data for all of the above.

Closing Thoughts On The Best Cities For Frequent Fliers

There you have it, the best cities for frequent fliers. These cities offer the most diverse destinations and ticket prices that aren’t half bad.
