This question is about registered dietitian resumes.
You write your registered dietitian credentials in a very specific order and format. Professional dietitian credentials are available through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and must be considered certified in most states.
When including this in your title, remember that the CDR allows you to interchangeably use the credential titles RD and RDN (Registered Dietician Nutritionist) - these are the same thing.
These credentials let clients know that you have advanced knowledge about key dietician and nutrition subjects, including:
Nutrition demands of specific population segments
Assessment and screening of individuals based on their diets
Nutrient principles of dietetics
Food and nutritional science
Nutrition research and study principles
Nutrition program management
Business and financial management of nutrition programs and services
Food production sanitation and safety
Menu development based on nutritional principles
The recommended order of listed credentials for registered dietitians is as follows:
Graduate academic degree
RD or RDN
Specialty certifications with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (e.g. CSG, CSO, CSOWM, CSP, CSPCC, CSSD, CSR)
Licensure designation
Other certifications (e.g. CDE, CNS, etc)
Fellow of the American Dietetic Association (FADA)
