Additionally, a cashier should be able to handle customer complaints and recognize fraudulent activities. Finally, a cashier should be able to work quickly and accurately, pay attention to detail, and have a strong sense of accountability.

A cashier's duties include the following:

• Greet the customer and ask if they have a preferred method of payment.

• Scan or manually enter items purchased into the cash register.
