How do you write a catchy resume?

Include hyperlinks in your contact information. Most hiring managers download your resume online or via email, so any links will and should be live.

Take advantage of this by including links to your email address, your LinkedIn profile (be sure to declare a custom URL), your website, or your company's website to give them quick access to you and your job history.

Focus your resume around telling a story of yourself as a qualified candidate. Think of your resume as a movie trailer to your professional career. Give enough information so that you'll get noticed and get called in for an interview, but don't reveal every aspect. Save some of your expertise for your first interview.

Keep it concise. A resume for an entry-level or early-career position should only be one page. Someone with more experience should have a resume no longer than two pages. To help keep it short, only list the past ten years of experience. Include no more than 3 to 6 bullets summarizing your great accomplishments for the job you do list.

Showcase your accomplishments throughout your resume and list your job experience, core skills, and education, including a list of your accomplishments. This is a good section to use numbers and percentages detailing your most proud achievements up to this point of your career.
