How does Quora make money?
Quora makes its money through advertisements. Advertising works by having different companies pay Quora to then be able to feature their advertisements to whoever is frequenting the website.
Initially, Quora did not have any revenue model but has shifted to feature advertisements. Quora strives to show advertisements in a way that make them look seamless, and like they are almost part of the webpage itself and not a separate advertisement.
There are generally two models of advertisements featured on Quora. One model pays Quora simply based on how many people click on whatever page features that specific advertisement. There are also advertisements that pay based on how many people actually click on the advertisement and in some cases, pay if people actually purchase the item through clicking.
