It can be extremely hard to become a coast guard officer. It is one of the most competitive programs in the entire coast guard. You must hold a bachelor's degree before entry into the program, and the actual admittance process can be extremely competitive.

To be admitted into the coast guard officer program, you need to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, prior management experience, and exceptional academic records. Not only do you need to hold a bachelor's degree, but you must have performed exceptionally while obtaining that degree, which can be difficult for some.
