How long does it take to become a Welder Fitter?

It takes 4 years of professional experience to become a welder fitter. That is the time it takes to learn specific welder fitter skills, but does not account for time spent in formal education.

The Certified Welder certification is most common among Welder Fitters. This certification is awarded by the American Welding Society. This certification is great to have as it shows an improvement in your competency to perform your role. You can earn this certification at the beginning of your career, as it often doesn't require a minimum education level and work experience. To become a certified Welder Fitter with Certified Welder, You need to pass the exam. Lucky you - certification doesn't require more than two years of work experience. Renew certification every 5 year.
