The dress code at Carnival is business casual for corporate positions and a uniform for all crew members. There is a good deal of variability in the type of uniform based on the cruise line and department.
For those working out of one of the corporate offices, you are expected to dress business-casual, unless you are on the executive floor, in which case it is business attire. Cruise staff, including restaurant and beverage positions, entertainment management and staff, and onboard concierge and customer service support, are required to wear a specific uniform.
All crew staff members are provided with two pairs of pants, five shirts (long-sleeved or short-sleeved button-down shirts), one vest or blazer, and one scarf or tie. Staff must provide their shoes and black socks. Additional uniform items are available for a fee.
The captain and crew wear traditional boat crew attire including white pants with a button-up shirt or polo, and slip-resistant shoes.
