This question is about Ben & Jerry's and Ben & Jerry's jobs.
The hiring process at Ben & Jerry's is pretty straight-forward and involves a phone screening and interview sessions. The entire hiring process takes anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks.
Ben Jerry's Application Process:
Unilever (our parent company) processes all job applicants for Ben Jerry's jobs. On Ben Jerry's career website - you can click on one of the listings under Current Openings, which opens a new window to select your country and click on the Careers section. The application is quick and easy. It involves just some basic demographics and contact information questions. It also includes an option to upload your resume and cover letter or to manually enter the information yourself.
Ben Jerry's Phone Screening Process:
Phone Screening
The phone screening does not happen with all candidates or positions. If you do get a call it's typically a brief one with the hiring manager. It's a general introduction and usually an invitation is extended at the end of the call.
"I applied online like they asked, but I had to call them in order to get an interview. We did zoom because of covid regulations, but the interviewer was still late. I passed the interviewer, all you gotta do is look passionate and smile a lot. But then they told me I had to go through a second round... like really? For a scooper? So I did and that went ok too. Same thing, just smile a lot and look friendly. I got an offer that time. But even after I got hired, I had to wait a while before anybody contacted me. I think I had to call or email them myself because they wanted everyone who got hired to go through the same virtual orientation."
Ben Jerry's Interview Process:
Interview Sessions
Depending on the position, you may have one 30-minute on-site interview with the hiring manager or it could be an all day interview process.
In all day interviews, candidates are scheduled for 4-5 hours to go around and have separate conversations with key employees. Lunch is provided with some of your future peers. Followed by a one-on-ones with the hiring manager, department lead, and HR.
